I'm driving my mom's truck (Chevy 350 - which is really mine since I own it
and pay for it heh) right now while my Cobra is giving it's fits. I went to
lunch today and noticed quite a bit of coolant on the ground. Got back to
work and it seems to be coming out of the back of the block, but I haven't
narrowed it down to a cracked block or freeze plug or blown gasket yet.
I live about 15 miles from work and about 10-11 of that is freeway. If I
fill up the radiator and try not to get on it more than necessary, do you
think it will be ok?

No. Not on a car like that. If you were certain that it was a leaking
plug or hose, that's different. But you don't know what it is. I
don't know the year of your car, but if it's under warranty or recall
for the Cobra's cooling problem, call Ford's 800 number and they'll
send you a flatbed. A Cobra is too nice of a car with too expensive
of an engine to take chances like that--especially when you have an
alternate means of transportation.

It is on my 93 Chevrolet truck, sorry for the confusion.

I don't think Ford would want to cover that Chevy truck under his Cobra's
warranty... ;)

Since it's a Chevy, GO FOR IT!...er...maybe.

Anyway, I'd look hard for the coolant leak before I drove it, maybe just a
leaking heater hose going to the firewall, maybe not. If it's not a
serious leak I'd probably try and nurse it home, don't think much will
happen in that distance.

Good luck...

Sounds like a plan!
I've really thought about trading up to a Lightning here recently with all
my problems.
*grump*
Oh well, life goes on.

The Ventura won't be ready this season, I don't think. Unless my mom gets
the help she needs, my budget doesn't allow for much extra spending. I
should have a bad ass motor for it within a month though =).

Well, I made it home. Letting it cool now so I can crawl under it and see
what has actually happened. I'm praying for a bad hose.

My prayers were answered...sort of. The heater hose/pipe that fits into the
intake sprung a leak. Actually, it was more like it got loose in the
pipe-to-intake fitting and the end got all smashed up and probably destroyed
an o-ing in the process.
Just in case anyone cared =)
