Damn door sill sticker does NOT state ANY tire pressure let alone
recommended pressure! Neither does owner's Manuel!
Please HELP!
Just found I was running at 20 psi.
Thanks

If memory serves the sticker is in the glove box.

32psi is what I've been told and is what I'm running my 245/45R17
Dayton Daytona's at. If I'm wrong, I'd like to know so I can fix the
pressure and save the wear on my tires..

The tires are rated at 45psi and I am running mine at 40psi. Makes a difference in the handling, less sidewall flex in the curves. I think Ford sends them from the factory at 32psi, at least that is what mine were when I increased to 40.

Hope you don't mind the direct email, but I hate getting spammed at my
work address. The correct pressure I believe is 30 psi. On my '02 GT
they have the tire inflation levels on a sticker inside the fuel door.

Hope this helps!

40 psi is good for handling, but will eventually wear a strip right down the
middle of the tire. Kenny Brown's shop suggested 34psi in the fronts and
32psi in the rears back when I was having some wear issues (cupping due to
worn struts).

32 PSI is great for "normal" tires (195 to 215), but my experience with
295 is that 24 PSI is best for running flat. However, those were 50
series. A 45 series would have slightly less sidewall flexure and stand
a bit more pressure. Interpolating (on the high side), I would
reccommend no more than 29 PSI for 245/45.

FWIW the decal on my '94 says 30 psi (front & rear) for the 245/45ZR17 tire.
I will email Kumho and ask them what they recommend for the car.

Does putting it on the door jamb make any more sense? I mean, if car
makers hadn't been doing it for years, who would think to look at the
door for tire information?

At least with the glove box, it's keeping the company of a bunch of
other information like your owner's manual... :)

Those are numbers are similar to what I use, but I had to raise my fronts
to 40 lbs. (they were still wearing on the outside)
I wound up dropping my rear pressures down to 30 after I noticed when I
pulled in the garage @ work that dirt from the floor was only showing up
down the middle of the tire. (That was @ 35lbs.)
The book on my V6 shows 35lbs all around but that doesn't work for
245/45/17's!
At least not with Bridgestone RE-71's.

For my '03, the sticker is actually inside the gas (fuel) door!

I have a 90 GT, and have been running a set of 235/45/17s up front and
255/45/17s out back for about two years. The psi I generally keep in
them is about 37 or 38 up front, and about 35 to 37 in back. So far
there have been no signs of premature wear at these settings, and the
ride feels fine. Hope this helps.
