replace Mac mufflers with Flowmaster 3 chambers?

I'm thinking about replacing the mufflers on my MAC cat-back with 3
chambers. The MAC is just too loud IMO when combined with a Bassani
X-pipe. Rather than buy a new cat-back, I'm just going to cut-off the
MAC mufflers and have some three-chambers welded on. How do the
Flowmasters sound? I want something which is basically the same volume
as stock, but with a better tone (more bottom-end).

Thanks,
Chris

I'd go with a dynomax muffler. My friend has it. Nice and quiet. With a
low rumble. No drone, no rapping. Definitely quieter than flowmaster.
Check out there site at www.dynomax.com

Wierd.....I had a drone at about 2k rpm with my dynomax 2.5" mufflers. This
was before and after installation of a BBK off-road h-pipe. I have replaced
it with the MAC Flowpaths since then. Kind of ironic.

The terminator mufflers have a nice deep tone that doesn't resonate. They
won't last as long as the flowmasters, but are quieter.

Which Dynomax muffler did you have? The super turbo or the ultra flo.
The ultra flo is a much louder muffler. How loud do you find your mac
exhaust?

Hi.

I've got 1 5/8" equal lengths, Bassani X-pipe and three-chambers on my
92, and they are really quiet. Slight gurgle on decel, call them
"grown-up" mufflers. Not bad, but I'm shopping for some with a more
aggressive sound right now. You might like these (but I'm not selling
them).

I was running the super turbos in a 2.5" pipe. They are quieter than the
MAC Flowpaths and yielded a little more low end power. I love the sound and
quality of the MAC system. It provided me with a better breathing at high
rpms and the increase in torque was noticeable with my other mods.

Good Luck!
