local races, i just got a 99' saleen for my birthday and i want to

Call or ping SCCA, or find a drag track that allows amateur entries -
then you can race without worry (I got a couple street racing tickets
when I was 16, many years ago - if you get them now, you'll be in jail
or without a car and license for a long time). Street racing, although
"cool" now, is a good way to get someone hurt (maybe you, maybe someone
else), and should be avoided. It shows an immaturity - if you want to
run for money, get a different car, my little contour will kill yours
(13.2 quarters on Nitto's with mr bad shift point (me) at the wheel) and
looks like a family truckster, and every decent rice rocket around will
have your title. A Saleen is a great car, but is not a street racer
until you spend some money on modifications. I wish I had one, one of
the best factory mustangs, but street racing is an idiotic thing to do.
I'm not sure where there are drag tracks in your area, but check some of
the local speed shops.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say you just turned 16, just got your license

Only in California! Hell, could he do any worse than Davis? I saw Gary
Coleman on TV last night and under his picture it said "California
Gubernatorial Candidate"! The funny thing is that he was very

Look, streetracing is f'n stupid, especially here in the Bay Area. You'll lose
your car in most cities. I don't mean impounded. I mean you do not own it
anymore. That is if you are lucky. Maybe you will kill someone or yourself.
If you want to race, go to Sears, er...Infineon raceway. Every wed night is
open to the public, and every thing is there, minivans, bikes, you name it. Do
yourself and everyone else a favor, dont race on the streets.

Just 3 years and on the streets? Unless you're flying down a ź mile dragstrip
in less than at least 10 seconds you don't know jack shit. You're still wet
behind the ears. From what I'm reading of your responses I bet you're one of
those kids who thought highly of the movie The Fags & the Curious and the
sequel 2 Gay, 2 Ridiculous. You have your car to have some sort of "status"
among your friends. Aside from that also I bet your car is pretty much stock
however it came to you from the dealership you got it from. I'd show you more
respect on here if you show you have the maturity and intellect to keep it

Simple. Take it to a track. Keep it off the streets if you want to race.

Arnie's supposed to be a conservative, but in a speech he said how he
wants to attract businesses back to California so revenues will go up
and then government can provide pretty much everything for everybody.
Hrmm. Who knows what to think after hearing that.

The scary part is, Davis will be ousted with less than 50% of the vote,
but with all the people running, the new governor could be crowned
having received only 2% of the vote. That does sound like something
that would happen in California, I must admit.
