I'm going to buy a '99 GT within the next week and I have some
questions.

1. How much have other people payed for theirs? I'm planning on
buying with cash, so I'd like to know the total.

2. Does anyone know the dealer invoice price? I don't trust the
websites I've seen like kellysbluebook.com

3. Are GT's really hard to come by? I'm pretty sure the dealers are
bullshiting me when they say it has something to do with the ford
explosion a couple of months ago.

4. How long do I have to wait if I order?

5. Why is it so hard to find a dark blue GT w/ traction control?

Thanks for any help in advance,
-Anthony

verified that their dealer prices are accurate.

have to do the phone calling to find the one you want at the dealer. Get
the numbers and start calling. Don't fall for the "I can trade another
dealer for the car you want" line. All they want to do is keep you at their
dealer and sell you something they do have on the lot.

problem trying to find White with Tan leather. Not many made. Why do you
want traction control, it already comes with limited slip rearend?

Thanks for the info on buying. I figure that for $200-300, the
traction control is probably worth it. It'll probably nock a few bucks
off my insurance, and it should give it more conservative handling when
I just want safe transportation (interstate travel, poor weather). Of
course I would never get the TC, if it weren't for the defeat switch,
for when I want fun handling. Why buy a mustang if I can't spin the
tires and fishtail? -Anthony

<< 1. How much have other people payed for theirs? I'm planning on

I paid $200 over invoice. $21,800 before taxes.

<< 2. Does anyone know the dealer invoice price? I don't trust the

edmunds.com has very reliable prices.

<< 3. Are GT's really hard to come by? I'm pretty sure the dealers are

I ordered mine cuz I wanted traction control. It helps in the rain here.
Concerning the availability of GT's, in the beginning of my search, I couldn't
find a GT to drive on Houston for the longest time. My dealer is chocked FULL
of them now.

<< 4. How long do I have to wait if I order?>>

6-8 weeks

<< 5. Why is it so hard to find a dark blue GT w/ traction control? >>

Cuz it is....sorry. So was my Chrome Yellow with traction.

No worries.

I don't know about KBB, but edmonds.com was right on with the dealer
invoice pricing on my '98 GT. Worth a look.

Kindly keep it Country,
