Anyone looking for a used car?

Do you want to check for possible reported accidents, and number of
owners?

Check out CARFAX.com

Why am I soliciting this? Because I paid the $20.00 US for an
UNLIMITED VIN lookup, which is only valid for 30 days, and I think that I can

recoup some of that by re-selling the service. My account is good till

05/18/2003.

Send $2.00(USD) / VIN to my PayPal account (steph...@yahoo.com),
along with a VIN number, and I will in turn generate the CARFAX report for you,

and email it back. If nothing comes back, I'll refund the money. That's it.

You can see for yourself if CARFAX has any information on your car
before you pay. Unfortunately, they don't give you the information unless
you subscribe to the service, the just tell you how many records they
have on the particular VIN. The number of records is usually to do
with vehicle registration, or registration changes (ie address). The
report does not provide owner specific information.

After servicing a few folks, CARFAX reports have uncovered: a car that
was declared scrap, one that failed an emmissions test and another
that had a decent guage for mileage/service intervals. All had
records of registration events. The US based cars seem to come back
with more information. I guess the repair centers use CARFAX enable
systems out there, although it is difficult to determine accurate
stats based on 5 random lookups.

Somehow I dont believe your TOS allow that...

Of course, that COULD just be my ethical sense... if you dont have one, then
I dont guess it matters.

I wonder what CarFax would think of this?

I dont think he will get any $2. From what Ive seen in here if someone asks
for a carfax someone will run it for them for free that is still in their 30
days.

That's OK,

Once he's ran a bunch from a variety of places, etc... carfax will start to
charge his credit card since this is spelled out in carfax's TOS when you
sign up for the account.

I had one a while back and would do it for people as long as they didn't
"advertise" that I was doing it.
