Finished the entire process this morning. I had thought about not doing the
claybar and Z-5 since the car is new, but figured what the hell. If
something didn't turn out quite right I would always be wondering if it was
because I did not do all the steps. Anyway, started on the car yesterday
morning................

Wash/Rinse/Dry with liquid Dawn
Claybar
Wash/Rinse/Dry with Z-7
Applied Z-1 Polish Lok
Applied Z-5 Polish for swirls and fine scratches - allowed to dry 1 hour and
removed
Wiped down with Z-6
Allowed car to sit for 6 hours per the directions
Wiped down with Z-6 to remove dust that settled in the 6 hours
Applied the Z-2 and removed after one hour
Allowed car to sit until this morning
Wiped down with Z-6 to remove dust that settled overnight
Applied second coat of Z-2 removed after one hour

I have not tried many high dollar car wash/wax systems like Mothers or any
of the others so can't really compare, but I was 100% satisfied with the
results of the Zaino system. Car looks AWESOME. Car is 1 month old and has
logged 800 miles and I thought the finish looked pretty good when I pulled
off the dealership lot, but it is to another level now.

When I finished this morning, I had to drive to a state park in the
mountains for a family renunion. While there, a bird crapped on the hood.
When I got home, I brought out the spray bottle of Z-6. Lightly sprayed the
spot and wiped the spot off the hood with a cotton towel. It looks as good
as new. No streaks, residue or anything left behind. After being gone all
day, sitting under some trees at the park, and logging close to 100 miles
the car surface looks like I just waxed it. Not the first spec of dust is
even sitting on the car.

All the polishes were very easy to apply and remove. Much easier than stuff
I have used in the past(which I admit is limited). Now that the entire
system is completed, all I have to do is apply Z-2 whenever I feel the car
finish is needing some freshening up a little(unless I am bored one weekend
and feel like starting over....lol). Directions said it will last a year,
but as quick and simple as the Z-2 polish is to apply/remove I am sure I
will be doing it more often.

Anyway, that is my experience with Zaino products. I would recommend them
to anybody atleast to try out if nothing else. I have virtually no
experience with any other than the basic one step waxes which Zaino clearly
outclasses by a mile. I had never used a clay bar before yesterday either
which was simple to use.

I am planning on doing the system on my 1995 Ranger next week if time
permits. That will be a true test. It is black and I have tried over the
years to keep it looking pretty good, but have the occasional water spots in
the paint and the very fine scratches in the paint from towels or whatever
that you can see in the sun. Probably will not make it look brand new, but
still curious as to how it will turn out.

Thanks to the ones here who have recommended Zaino in the past. RAMFM and
Stangnet was the first time I had even heard of Zaino and would of never
tried it if it wouldn't of been for the recommendations.

BTW, I had plans of installing my Steeda Tri-AX while I was waiting the 6
hours yesterday afternoon for the Z-5 to harden, but something came up and
wasn't able to get it in. Maybe this coming up weekend. Will report back
on that after I get it in. :)

Liquid Dawn? Was this on purpose to remove whatever wax was on the car
before starting the process?

Yes, the directions called for the use of a dishwashing type soap to remove
the old wax buildup before starting. It said the claybar would pull the old
wax off anyway that was not removed.

Step 3 of the directions:
"I would definitely recommend you remove the wax buildup on your paint.
Just use Liquid Dawn(hand dishwashing liquid). It has a high alkaline
content, which cuts right through carnauba wax, paraffin, silicone oils,
etc. This will get your paint squeaky-clean and wax free. I don't advise
making a habit of washing your car with Dawn. But for this scenario it's
fine. High alkaline products like Dawn are tough on polishes. It will
never harm the paint finish though. A car wash is made specifically to
clean without removing durable polishes."

I recently did a Collector's Edition 96 Corvette with Zaino this last week.
Results were...once again...amazing. I'll be putting up a small site soon with
before and after shots. Zaino is most noticible on a black car, but has the
same effect of all colors though.

Is it expensive?

It's obviously more profound on darker colors, but it has the same affect of
all paint...it's just not as obvious on white and even silver as it is on
black, for instance. I think I paid in the 37.00 dollar neighborhood for all
three products. WELL worth it as I've done my Buick twice now and the Vette
and still have enough to do the 96 teal SS I bought.

Howdy Mike,
So Mike, let me make sure I understand your car line. You have a corvette,
a Buick, and a Camaro SS, and you choose to hang out in the Mustang
Newsgroup. Why? Or did I miss the fact that you own just as many Mustangs?

Hey Kate...if you buy 1 of everything, the price is a bit over $100,
but you're set for quite some time and your car will positively glow!
HIGHLY recommended! I got it all so I could try it, including the
glass polish, etc. The only thing I didn't get was the leather stuff
cause I am real happy with Zymoil. You can contact Ron Zarr at
mtbr...@nospamhotmail.com (remove the nospam) and tell him Ken in
Atlanta sent you. I've dealt with the guy, and he is straight up. And
no, I get no kickbacks or anything. ;->

The Vette is my works partner's, the Buick is sold, and I now have a 96 SS. I
hang out here because I have been hanging out here for around 7 years. I
consider many here to be friends.

>Or did I miss the fact that you own just as many Mustangs?

Well, here's a short list of past ones:

74 - First car
65 fastback
69 Mach 1
85 notch - 4cyl
83 GT
85 GT
92 Hatch - Vortech, etc...
92 Ex Hi Po Coupe
92 Titaninum 'vert - AOD-T5 conversion
89 hatch bought as a parts car
97 SVT Cobra

As to why I have the SS, it's a long story and I'll post about it when I'm not
at work and have more time.
