The seller is clueless, and is just trying to drum up interest in his
car. Nothing more, nothing less.

Bill for some reason this car seems familiar. I emailed the owner to find
out why. I think it may have been in an early 90's car magazine and have
some legit story behind it. What ever I find I will pass it along.

It looks similar to the 1991 - 1993 SAAC Mustangs, but according to the Shelby
American World Registry, the 4 prototypes were all 1991 hatchbacks, not 1990
convertibles.

I think you will find that none of the *protos* came with CD Players either. Didn't they first get introduced into Mustangs in 93??

Your thinking of the SAAC cars, which none where built like the car
shown in the auction. In fact, the prototype SAAC MK II "convertible"
was in my possession for a few weeks last year (lent to me while my 69
Shelby convertible was in the shop), red with a black leather
interior.....A 1991 chassis, not a 1990. No, the owners story is just
that, a story, not based in reality at all.....

No to mention it has really tacky headlight covers.. Ick... I thought that trend (tinted headlight covers) died out in the '90s..

Just a fox 5.0 with some mild body enhancements tryin to be sold off as
something it's not for more money.

Anyone care to run the VIN through carfax to see what comes up???

Bill,

I emailed a Board member from Shelby (SAAC) and they said Carroll Shelby in
no way would have been able to endorse such a car while under obligation to
Chrysler in 1990.

On another note, do you remember the Mustang Pantera right around that time?
Similar to the SAAC.

Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing this car on ebay several
times over the last three years....Even spoke to Gary Hall about it in
the fall of 1998.........It is known as the "Hall" prototype, not a
Mustang Pantera...Not as well known as the Rousch/Saleen prototype, as
it did not warm the cockles of FoMoCo executives enough to even consider
it past that stage of development.....Now, you really want something
sharp from Gary Hall, just check out his 1973 Pantera powered by an all
aluminum BB engine, silver in color, black interior, Gotti
rims...........Set up mostly to show off what he can do to this
particular model of vehicle......Sharp is an
understatement.........perhaps one day I'll get him to make me a Pantera
convertible.....................

A Pantera convertible, now that is something I would like to see! Even a
Targa top GTS5 is nice. I will do a search on Gary's '73 Pantera or if you
have a link please post it. Thanks and take care.
