I have a 72 351 Cleveland. I need to know what total timing to set the distributor at, (besides , just before it knocks...).
Here is briefly what I have. 351C bored 0.030", TRW stock compression pistons (8.5 or 9:1), Comp Cam .530 lift 280 duration (2...@0.50), 110 degree lobe separation, Edelbrock aluminum manifold, Holley 650 double pumper, Hooker Headers, MSD 6A ignition, Accel mechanical advance distributor.
What should I set it at?

That info is on the cam spec. sheet. The timing they give is a good starting
point. Start out where they recommend, and if it doesn't ping, keep
advancing it untill it just starts to ping, then back it off about 2
degrees, or untill it doesn't ping any more.
