both are running and have never been rebuilt.
Please give me different prices for different options and conditions.
Thanks in advance,
Louis
The 428 in the '73 is not the original engine. Its year and power
level can be ascertained from casting numbers. The 429 within those
years mentioned will vary in compression and rated horsepower.
Assuming both are garden variety passenger engines, around 300 bucks
apiece would be typical, complete with auto trans. If the Ranchero has
a manual trans, it could be worth as much or more than the engine.

Don't know about the value of either, but I know what I would do with
a 429, if I had one laying around -- pop it into a '71 to '73 Mustang
notchback, and build a sweet little sleeper.

The FE engine would probably bring considerably more $$$ (anybody??)

Do you realize that those are the same exact blocks? My brother recently bought
a 72 429 with the low compression heads on it. The engine builder that he's
having go through the block is the Ford "God" around here that builds
bulletproof Ford motors almost exclusively. He is putting a 460 crank in it,
boring it out .030", so it will be a 466. He is also rebuilding a set of Police
Interceptor heads for it that he had lying around in his shed. Along with the
roller rockers and CompCams Extreme Off Road cam, it oughta have about 550
horses when he's done, all motor.
Anybody want some low compression 429 heads real cheap? LOL
