Howdy!

I'd appreciate some recommendations for San Diego-area performance shops.
I've got a '99 Cobra, and want to install 4.10 gears once I get the my car
"fixed" as promised by Ford/SVT. I've called "JBA Racing", but they don't
seem very interested/knowledgeable, and "Autosport" in Escondido qouted me
$489 incl. installation for the 4.10s. Anybody else out here?

Thanks in advance!

Beware of Daytona Mustang in Santa Paula, California.
I have written a lengthy article about them on my web site.

I had my 3.55's installed at JBA. They did a good job on the gear
installation, but they forgot to screw in the top bolt on the axle housing
cover (I discovered this several months later...I can't believe it didn't fall
out). They also didn't do very well in the customer service area. I showed
up at my appointment only to be told to "come back tomorrow" and when my car
was ready, they tried to charge me an extra $50 for the shimkit. I complained
and they ended up charging me what they quoted me. I have a friend who also
had a bad experience getting some work done there.

I think they realize that they are probably the most popular shop in town and
can get away with whatever they want. Let me know if you find a good
performance shop.
