Anyone out there use a Torsen differential? Did you have any problems
installing it? I have to replace mine, and I am not sure if I want to
use a Torsen, or just install a Ford 31T.

I looked into the Torsen's awhile ago. IMO they are the best
differential going if road course racing or street driving is your
thing. That being said I have also been told they aren't the best
choice for high hp engines or drag racing. I ended up rebuilding the
T-Loc with extra clutch discs. I have a "how to" article I can email
showing how to rebuild the stock differential with the extra clutches.

I have used an Auburn Posi unit in my 7.5" with 4.10 gears for over 6 years
(maybe 40 000 miles) with no problems or complaints - I broke two of the
stock posi units and wasn't going to try a third. Auburn = big smile IMHO.

I would appreciate the article Michael. The car is going to be a road race
car, but I do plan on driving it on the street. The rear end has almost
200K on it, so it is about time.
