I have scanned the newsgroup for this problem and havent seen any
posts... so here goes.
I changed my air filter today ( 1996 V6 Ford Explorer ) and later
noticed the Check enginge light on. I tinkered a bit with plugs to the
sensors and stuff, but don't really know what they all are.
My question is this, is there a common problem when changing the air
filter on these trucks, bumping the sensors or crimping tubes?? And also
do i need to get the light reset? Maybe i fixed the problem and the
light needs to be reset?
Any help would be great.

Suggestion: re-set the computer by disconnecting the battery for a
few minutes. The light may go out as the engine digests new data from
its sensors.

A scan tool that costs ~120.00.
If the EGR is sensing high flow, it could be the hoses to the EGR sensor
are split, or the EGR valve could be stuck open.
It was the EGR valve sensor. I had it replaced and now all is fine.
It cost 125 bucks, Sensor: $60
Labor: $58
Does this sound reasonable? ( they only charged me for 1.25 hours of labor
but i waited for 4 hours!)
