If you can add any to this list, please do. We all know that producers
and directors love to use Mopars in their work because they are a symbol
of American muscle.
1958 Plymouth Sport Fury in Christine
Charger R/T 440 in Crazy Mary, Dirty Larry
Chargers in "Dukes of Hazzard"
Ramcharger in Lone Wolf McQuade
Hemicuda in Phantasm 1,2,3
1960's Dodge truck that tries to run Clark Grizwald off the road in
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation -- there's an obscure reference
"Married With Children" -- Al Bundy's various Darts and Dusters over the
years, if this were real, you know he wouldn't have to push those
slant six cars -- suspension of disbelief
The Charger in "Bullit"
Wasn't there a Coronet???? in the movie Eat My Dust??
Any more that you can think of????

Yup!!!
There was a rock group called Ministry who had a video with a Black '70 Cuda
running through the desert @ high speed in it.They also have a tee shirt
promoting their song,"Jesus built my hotrod" with a 440 six pack motor on
it.
Don't forget Homer's GTX during one of his flashbacks on the Simpsons.
I remember Daisy Duke had a '74 RoadRunner in one episode-she also drove
that Jeep.
The movie "The Wraith" had a late model Daytona in it.
How could you forget The Blues Brothers????????????? EGAD!!!!!!!!!!
The movie "Hot Rod" featured a Hemi motor(In a Willys coupe if I recall)

There are more:
A Charger in "Bullet"
A Road Runner in "Crazy Larry, and Dirt Mary"
38 Plymouth Coupe in "High Sireira" with Bogart, great chase sence.
A Ramcharger in "McQuade Texas Ranger"
58 Plymouth and 69 Charger in "Christine"
A Hemi Cuda in "Phantasm"
70 Dart in "Dual" with Dennis Weaver
94 Dodge Pick-up in "Die Hard with a Vengence"
Several Mopars in "Two Lane Black Top"

In "Lone Wolf McQuade", Chuck Norris' Ramcharger (or was it a Plymouth
Trailduster -- same thing anyway) had a supercharger (or was it a NOS
set-up?). I haven't seen the movie in 10 years. If it were a 440 with
the supercharger or NOS, oh boy!!!!! One scene has him completely buried
in his Ramcharger. He cranks up his rig and drives out!!! I think that it
would have enough torque to do that in real life. It was a cool scene.

There was an Imperial stretch limo (64, 65, or 66) in
at least one of the Mission Impossible TV shows
(used by the "bad guys"). There was a previous
post concerning the Mannix car being a Challenger
or Barracuda. I am relatively certain it was a
dark green Barracuda.

There was a Saturday Night Live skit where an NBC
exec arrives on the Star Trek set to announce to
the cast that Star Trek is being cancelled. The
exec, played by Elliot Gould, arrived in a 68
Imperial, which was shown on the Enterprise view
screen. Chase played Spock, Belushi played Kirk.
I recall there was a third cast member represented,
perhaps Scotty.

> The movie "The Wraith" had a late model Daytona in it.

First of all, "The Wraith" had at least 3 Daytonas in it. The first one was
the white 86 Turbo Z that the guy was driving in with his girlfriend in the
beginning of the movie. The "road pirates" stopped him and made him race for
pink slips against an early 80s Vette. The Daytona was winning until he was
forced off the road!

The second one was another Turbo Z I think... it was black with orange stripes.
The driver was one of the gang members. He raced against the hero who drove
the black concept car made by Chrysler and PPG... I can't remember the name of
it, but it looked like a modified Daytona. The concept car had a futuristic
name, but I can't remember it!

The third Daytona was a white 87... it was in the garage of the bad guy with
the Vette. I don't know if it was a Shelby or not, but I could tell it was an
87 because of the concealed headlamps. The movie also had a Cuda in it, i
think.

One I'm suprised that hasn't been mentioned was the Ram truck in "Twister."
There was also a Jeep truck and a fleet of caravans in the movie.

There was a turbo Lebaron GTS in "Short Circuit 2" that was driven by the bad
guys.

One last one... in the movie "Jingle All The Way" where Sinbad and Arnold
Schwartzanegger try to get the Turboman action figure for their kids... there
is a shot of the neighborhood in which you can see a 84-86 Daytona driving at
the top of the screen.... I think I am the only person to ever notice this :>
I just wonder if they put it in the move because of the Turboman theme :>

Anyone know of any other movies with late model Daytonas in them?

The Brady Bunch also had various Mopars in it, ones I remember -
1970 Barracuda Conv. as well as a few different Mopar wagons.

Also remember a movie with Dennis Weaver (don't remember movies name), he
drove an early 70's Dart or Valient and was chased throughout the movie by

The Bradys drove a series of Chrysler products throughout the years of the
show "The Brady Bunch" from 1969 to 1974 -- mostly Dodge and/or Plymouth
wagons and a few sedans and convertibles also. The episodes where they go
to the Grand Canyon contain a lot of scenes of their tan Dodge station
wagon towing a pop up tent trailer. My family had a 1973 Plymouth
Satellite wagon back in the '70's which was purchased new. It was green
with the 318 and the cool power sliding rear window. It only sat 8
comfortably -- 3 up front, 3 in the middle, and 2 in the rear facing seat
in the back. It must have been a tight fit for the 9 Bradys -- 6 kids, 3
adults (Alice included). If I were Mike Brady, I would have left the help
at home!

The Dodge truck from Simon & Simon

The Brady Bunch had a Blue E-Body Cuda Convertable, and a Bronze
Satelite Station Wagon.

The TV show Lassie had a Dodge truck they drove around in.

Al Bundy's Dodge Dart (WHich when they show it sometimes it is a Duster)

Star Trek Voyager had a time travel episode with a New Dodge Ram being

The CHuck Norris series (The Name escapes me) has Chuck driving around

Technically, they're right. The cars that they're using are '70s with

'71 front sheetmetal. If you're really into this sort of thing, you can
tell that they're '70s by the interiors.

Then, too, none of the cars are really Hemis, either.

That sounds accurate. The 440 is probably the 4-speed car that Don
Johnson specifically asked for (all of the others are autos). One of
them is a 'stunt' car that has a fake shaker hood and fake hood pins
attached to the hood. Only one car has a real elastomeric (rubber) front
bumper - the others are plated steel. They're considering getting
another car with a Hemi just for open hood shots. Supposedly they're
going to correct the interior problem, too, and install '71 interiors in
the '70 cars.

Nope. They're 71s. The taillights, the front fender louvers are all
from a 71.

Yep, I think a read an article about the guy who is in charge of this

the show. And I THINK I saw the show briefly and I THINK I saw '71
tailights then. BTW, has anyone mentioned the Challenger convertible in

I saw it in the list earlier, but the name of the Movie was "Dual"

Don't forget the Countless Dodge Wepeons carriers in all the war movies,
not to mention most of the tanks. Chrysler almost all the tanks from
WWII through till they sold on the division in the early 80's. The
first M1 Abrams are Mopars.

In the last Knight Rider movie when they blew up the Chevy Corsica
Police car, the actual explosion was an 84-87 Duster/Charger. The would
have been better off blowing up the Chevys.

Flanders also drives a Geo Metro.

Homer's Mopar is one he had when he was in high school and is only seen
in flashback episodes.

It looks like a '70 Road Runner with a Superbird wing.

Also, "Snake" (the criminal whose line is "Alright!") in _The Simpson's_
is usually seen driving a cartoon version of a '69 Charger.

But to add another potential candidate to the Mopar Movie Hall of

And speaking of such things, has anyone mentioned the infamous

They sure weren't. Andy and Barney always had Ford Galaxy cop cars
(atleast on the old black and white show). In fact, I think that all of
the newer cars used on the show were Ford products. I can't remember
ever seeing a Mopar on the original series, even an old one.

If I'm not mistaken, it lists automobiles used on the show as supplied
by Ford Motor Company in the credits at the end of the show.

You're right about the Fords, and Sgt. Enright drove a '66 or '67
Plymouth Satellite in MacMillan and Wife. Here are a few others:
1. All of the Mopars, mostly being crashed or trashed, in Beverly Hills
Cop.
2. Dennis Hopper's Charger in Blue Velvet.
3. In Several Elvis movies, the love interest usually had a Mopar.
In "it happened at the World's Fair(?)" the social worker/love
interest had a conv. '62 plymouth. In another film of which I've
forgotten the title, Shelley Fabres has a '60-62 Valiant and Elvis
drives an Imperial conv.
4. Did anyone mention the Horizon pizza delivery car or Dodge van
in Home Alone?
5. There was a miniseries called "Chiefs" on tv around 1980 or so
which starred Billy Dee Williams as the first black chief of a
town around 1960 or so, and he gets pulled over in his 57 or 58 Desoto.
6. What about all the Mopars in "it's a mad, mad, mad, world"?
7. Brady Bunch's Plymouth wagons.
8. My Favorite Martians 65 Plymouth Belvedere/Fury Conv.
9. Australian hybrid chrysler/desoto in Mad Max movie about the
oil oasis being besieged by desert warriors.
10. And for the Mayberry fans, I believe Ken Barry drove a
Belvedere wagon on Mayberry RFD.

That's all I can think of now.
