The 42-year-old man accused of driving a pickup truck through the Rose
Festival’s Grand Floral Parade pleaded not guilty Monday to seven charges
tied to the chaotic incident.
Sidney Mecham allegedly drove his Chevy Avalanche past a blockade and down
part of the parade’s route in Northeast Portland on Saturday morning. He
faces 10 counts of misdemeanor reckless endangerment, one felony count of
attempting to elude police and one felony unlawful use of a weapon charge,
among others.
