ST. LOUIS — Police are charging the man in custody responsible for hitting
a woman and changing her life forever.

On December 16 Maria de Lourdes Solorio Gumersell was T-Boned by Brandon
Marcell Dorsey,21. He was trying to flee from officers at the time.
Dorsey is being charged with two felonies. Police said he created a
substantial risk of serious injury/ death to another person.

He is being charged with resisting arrest and 2nd-degree assault.
According to the probable cause statement, police attempted to perform a
traffic stop because the Chrysler 300 matched the description of a car
that fled police on December 5, 2023.
Dorsey drove at a high speed weaving in and out of traffic, the statement
said.
Gumersell was hit as Dorsey ran a red light. He crashed at North Market
Street and North Grand Boulevard in St. Louis City.
