A friend of mine has very limited net.access, but is interested
in any Rambler/AMC mailing lists. He has a 1961 Rambler American
and I told him how good the net was for parts, advice, etc, and
he asked me to look into this for him. Please let me know if one
exists and I'll forward the info to him. Thanks.

There is a Rambler/AMC club. The address is:
AMCRC, Inc.
2645 Ashton Rd.
Cleveland Heights, OH 44118
They have monthly mailings and a roster of members. I hope this is what
he is looking for.

hey brendan!
How tough is it to start a mailing list? I think there's enough of us
rambler weirdos around to support one.
The AMCRC club another poster listed is a good resource, but after you get
most of the useful stuff (parts sources, other vendors) their newsletter
gets a bit tedious so I dropped my membership.

well, there's the mopar mailing list, (I subscribe) and personally I'd like to
se an AMC/Jeep sublist or just join in the whole mess. the address is
mopar-...@chennov1.tamu.edu to subscribe. or just write a letter to
mo...@chennov1.tamu.edu explaining your situation, an ask for replies via
personal e-mail...or if someone decides to set up a list, post it here so us
amc fans can join.

Another source might be AMC World Clubs. 303-428-8760 If you don't
belong to a club join this one. If you do belong, quit that one and join
this one.
What the AMC hobby needs is one united front to tie together all the
resources available and make AMC a real hobby. Right now we are on the
brink of extinction and with MOPAR throwing away all pre-1980 parts we
could be in for a heap of trouble. AMC World Clubs has the ability to
unite the hobby, but it can't with all the political in fighting going on
around the country. If all the AMC club members united, we may number in
the 10-20,000. No way near the draws of Chevy, Mopar and Ford.
Thats another sore spot. AMC is destined to become the bastard cousin
once removed of MOPAR. AMC cars are and never were MOPARs. More and more
I see pictures of AMCs (AMX in particular) along side Chargers,
Challengers, etc. If one person says my 1970 Javelin is a nice MOPAR I
will not be held responsible. Don't fall into the MOPAR trap, we will
only be laughed at and scorned behind our backs, or maybe right to your
face.
AMC can survive without MOPAR, but only if it wants to. What has your
club done for you recently to make you think of these things? If you are
tired of searching for parts and tech help, give AMC World Clubs a chance.
They are trying to head the AMC hobby in the right direction for sure.
