I have an 800cc 42 hp engine. I want more HP, are there any options to
upgrade HP? What, if any, are compatible engines?

That's exactly what I did too, use an SJ 1000cc in an LJ, I
also used the tranny as well as the carb. The carb from the
LJ is not very good, but the carb from the SJ is excellent.

Since sold the vehicle, but I'll send some pics anyway.

Hi, I just bought an LJ80, good to know I can swap engines. Can someone
advise me how to top up gearbox / transfer case lube? My jeep makes a
horrible screeching sound on 1st to 3rd gears, Sounds like a dry gearbox or
something, Help!

Hello:

1. Take the coverplate off the x-case lever, to do this you'll
have to unscrew the knob & pull off the boot.

2. On top is a nut to fill-check the t-case fluid level.

3. Top it up with Prolong & semi-synth t-case oil.

That ought to clear the problem, if not check the fluid
level in the tranny & the diffs as well.

Cheers - Ross
