RE: Trooper V-6 milege:
I have a '91 Trooper with the 2.6l I-4. My milege intercity ranges about
15 to 18 MPG. High speed highway have been as high as 24 MPG.
I think your vehicle needs a tune-up in a bad way. A dirty air filter,
carbon caked spark plugs, poorly conductive plug wires, and a restrictive
exhaust system can equal poor performance and mileage. Look into a K & N
brand re-useable air filter, new spark plugs and wires, and a low
restriction exhaust system to boost power and gas mileage.

Hi Weems,
I have a '91 Trooper 4 Door with the 2.8l V-6 and a 5 speed.
Here in Northern Colorado, I've been getting a real consistant
17-20 in town and up to 25 on the highway. We have about
47k miles on it and have only changed the oil!
I've had the 2.8l in a couple of GM S-10/S-15 blazer vehicles
and got about the same mileage. In our S-10 2wd pickup I've
been getting 2-4 mpg better.
I'd suggest a tune-up for yours. Keep us posted!
