why do the muscle car guys prefer the OHV, rather than OHC? Isn't it
kinda outdated? By the way, i am not offending anybody here..just a
bit curious

#1 reason: $$$$$

Performance parts for OHV engines are plentiful, extensive and relatively
inexpensive.
The supply line for perfomance parts for OHC engines is nowhere near as
extensive, nor plentiful and as such, are more expensive. The high-volume
production OHC V-8 engine in american culture is relatively only a baby.
In 10 years, when most of the old iron is gone, and the aftermarket has
caught up, it will be the same for OHC engines as it is now for OHV
engines.
