I have a 1985 Nissan truck with clutch problems. It acts as if the
hydraulic system needs bleeding. Master, and slave cylinder have been
replaced twice in 3 months. New clutch. In morning, pedal goes all
the way to floor, needs pumping, gets better with use. There is no
fluid leakage. Two mechanics have looked at it but nobody hs replaced
the clutch damper in the hydraulic system. I cannot even find this
part on the internet but I suspect its piston is sticking and causing
the problem. What does the clutch damper do? Where can I get one?

Huh?.....new one on me...
Not saying it isn't there, but usually, the only parts to a hydraulic
clutch system are the master cylinder, fluid line, and a slave cylinder.
The only other possibility I can think of is it is an accumulator, in
which case, if it leaked down would have to be pumped back up on the
fluid side. If it is an accumulator, it may have lost precharge.

You can't 'idiot proof' anything....every time you try, they just make
better idiots.

After doing a lot of searching, I find it is used to dampen engine
vibrations being transmitted back up to the clutch pedal. It has a
tiny piston, a spring, and a rubber piece the piston pushes against.
After 278,000 miles, I think it has gone bad and cannot locate
another. I may just bypass it with a piece of hydraulic line. I
suspect the rubber piece has gotten bad and the only reference I could
find to such a damper says it makes bleeding difficult.
