What is the best Walkman?

I am in the market for a good Walkman. I would like to be able
to use it as a regular portable cassette player, but also, I would
like to be able to hook it up to my stationary music set and play
and record good quality tapes. I know Sony Walkman Professional
pretty much fits the bill, but regarding its high price, I want
to know if it is the only such Walkman. Recently Aiwa and others
have been coming up with what looks like good quality Walkmen,
is there one that comes close to the Professional in functionality
and quality?
