Bob,

Where are you located? Have you used the scope lately? everything ok? Why
only one probe?

Thanks,

Bob A.

So, this is a 7904A? The 7904 is not 500MHz, it's somewhat less. This
looks like a very good deal, BTW, even if it is a non-A 'frame. The non-A
has somewhere in the vicinity of 400MHz BW, I think.

See http://www.caip.rutgers.edu/~kahrs/testeq/7000.html for lots of useful
info on these wonderful scopes.

The 7904 is indeed 500Mhz, if some don't go out to 500, the vertical amp
has probably been overcompensted. Tek speced them at 500 Mhz and mine has
tested easily at that.

Perhaps I was misinformed; in any case, I didn't mean to attack the poster or
his sale price, just to clarify. As I said, I think the price quoted is a
great deal whether it's a 7904 or a 7904A.

This is not correct. Both models have 500MHz bandwidth. The 7904A
chassis has the separate "acquisition" and "display" modules and a
different front panel layout, but otherwise there is not much difference
to the user.

It's hard to say which is preferable -- 7904As are newer and likely to be
in better condition, but it's probably easier to get parts for the 7904
since there are more scrap units out there.
