REcently I read that Sovtek has replaced their 6V6-Gt line of output tubes
with a new variant: 6V6EH. According to some reports, the EH's hold up to
higher voltages and, more importantly, SOUND BETTER. Can anyone attest to
this or draw comparisons?

thanks!

The 6V6EH is a far superior tube to the older Sovteks. It'll take the high
voltages the guitar amps use, and the sound quality is much improved. Plus,
they are only $19.50 a pair (on my site) so the price hasn't jumped way up
either. A whole new tube for all intents and purposes.

My .02 anyway.
