Quicksilver 8417 Modification Site

Hi, just found this wonderful news group last week,

Is there any site detailing the following mods:
(1) using EL34, KT88/KT90, 6550 replacing 8417
(2) changing the ultralinear mode to triode mode using 8417 or other more
popular tubes
(3) changing the bios setting to cathode bias or self bias

Also are there any sites selling pre-amp/line amp kits compleye with power
supply unit and case?

Also, Quicksilver has it's own mod for those amps which changes the input tube
to a 6922 and uses EL-34s. $250 for the mod. I've exchanged e-mails with Mike
Sanders about modding it, but I got the feeling he (and most others on this
group) prefers the sound of the 8417 in that amp.

EL34 is a lot weaker, kt88/6550 could replace 8417 ( i think even
the same pinout)

you mean like the "pauli" unit ? I have a paper drawing somewhere...
