That's right, it is an ECLL 800. The US substitute should be 6KH8.
Neither of these valves are easy to find and they are expensive -
$ 40 - 50
The pentode section is not far from the more common EL 95, but if you
are forced to rebuild, you need more sockets on the chassis.
Multisection valves is an old German idea. I think one of the first
was the Loewe 3NF in 1926 which contained an almost complete radio
receiver in one bulb! Maybe we could call it a 'valve' integrated
circuit.
ECLL 800 is not that advanced, but it is an interesting valve and it
is a pity that is has become so scarce now because there is a certain
demand for it.

Yes, could be done. 6BM8/ECL 82 has an anode dissipation of 9W
compared to 6W for ECLL 800, but the triode in ECL 82 has a u of 70
compared to 12 in ECLL 800, so you will have to change the circuit.
ECL 80 is another type that could be used with a u of 20 in the
triode, but the pentode has a maximum dissipation of only 3.5W
My best advice is to read one of the RCA Receiving Tube Manuals and
look at all the triode-output pentode valves you can find.
Good luck!

I think I have this tube in my junkyard. If I can get $40 for it, I'll dig
it out for sure.

Try Kurt in Germany - he has some used but good (and fair priced), or at least had last time around. email:

Cheers /Rick

BTW I have a few, too, spares for my Hagström guitar amp (1964 Hagström 310) :-) but I will keep them unless I sell the amp.....offers, anyone :-) ?
