Well, long time no write... Still in NY, still the same goyil, about 1000
more toob "Important, valuable & real useful" littering my bedroom
livingroom, place I do restos for, basement, kid's playroom etc., about 6
more guitars (I was going to sell them ... Really ... Honest.), a few
acoustics (I'm officially middle-aged now!), a few more 'puter boxen, an M3
Hammond (don't laugh, it's a goofy thing well worth having, and it doesn't
have a MIDI connector, and a 12" fieldcoil Jensen which reeks of coolness!
Oh, and I'm running the amp's now UL & has a real driver toob/ line
out...)</intro>
Anyhow, I've got a pair of 45's from an old radio which test great, look
good, and are a pretty close match. I was thinking of making a headphone
amp out of the suckers, and just thought I'd ask if anyone here had tried
anything like that... I don't want to go dig/wind giant chokes for a
choke - plate - feed setup, a bit squeamish when it comes to using 'lytics
*right* in a signal path (I know it's just superstitions, but...), and am
willing to use voltage regs on DC fils & all that, and am willin' to get as
lil' as .5w out of a SE gizmo, so... anyone had any fun doing this, or
should I just stick to triode-strappin' el84's? and be a happy camper?
