I made the guy an offer he didn't respond to (though I got a "read"
reciept). On his index page, he claims to dispose of the tubes which do not
pass his rigid microphonics etc. tests. I offered him $.50 per tube, any
tube, lots of a hundred or more, + shipping, for the tubes he presently
discards. I just can't understand why he didn't take me up on it... We'd
both win...

responded to you, I had no problems with contact. He answered all my
questions and helped me pick out the best tubes for my needs. He also
has great prices! Keep in mind they are all NOS or JAN so if you're
not looking for brand new tubes you can find used ones cheaper
elsewhere. If you have the money, KCA is the place to go.

That's 'coz you werebuying his tubes at his prices, and not calling him on
an obvious bluff. Do you really think he "discards" tubes which do not meet
his "stringent specifications"? If so, why would he not be interested in
just shoving all of his discards back into the eggbox, and, once there were
enough to ship, ship them to me, and make $$$? I didn't ask him for
onesy-twosies, I was willing to buy lots of 100 & up. Seemed odd to me that
he didn't jump at the offer of a sucker who was willing to buy his
garbage...

I can also find the *same* tubes cheaper almost anywhere else. Used tubes I
don't have to buy (unless... they're weird and sexy...).

If I had the money, I'd get out of my "janitor-to-the-stars" jobs & just
play & play with the most esoteric tubes imaginable, haveinhg a few flunkys
doing pickin' for me. Unfortunately, I have to count my $$$ (and I don't
even need to know the high numbers).
