Hey ALL,
I am selling my Pioneer FH-P85, the top of the line Pioneer
head unit. I had it installed in my Mitsubishi 3000GT, but I am
trading the 3000GT in on the new '98 Corvette, and the Corvette head
unit will only accept a DIN and a half, while the FH-P85 is a double
DIN deck. So, unfortunately, I can't use the unit in my new Vette.
For those who know the features of this unit you don't need to
read this, as I am going to spell out some of the key features, the
price is at the end of the post. I am also selling my Pinoeer CDX-P610
CD changer with it as well since I will be moving up to the 12 disk
changer, or maybe even the 50 disk, if it will fit in the Vette.
Here is an outlay of the features of this unit. I will not
list them all, as the manual is about a half inch thick, and this unit
can do more things than my home stereo, literally!
It is a deck with a highly graphical face, fast acting LED
spectrum analyzer, display info, shows a graphic for which sound field
you have selected, and many other display options available.
It will control up to four Pioneer CD changers at one time,
has a 100 CD memory for title inputs. It has a fold down face, behind
which is the cassette player, and it has the super tuner III
technology, and it also has a single CD slot in the front if you don't
want the CD changer. It is four channel, 35 Watts/ channel, I had
eight Infinity Speakers connected to it in my 3000GT and I never got
it past half way, they actually had to wire OUT my Infinity factory
Amp because it couldn't handle the input power from the FH-P85.
Onto specifics:
Non audio related functions:
Auto location setting, it will analyze the airwaves, radio
signals that is, and tell you where you are located, city, state etc
within a 30 mile accuracy. It has EVERY station in the USA, Canada, &
Mexico programmed into it's memory so it can tell where you are by
analyzing the signals. It has Soundscape technology. You place the
Soundscape CD into the front CD single slot, and it will mix it with a
CD, or tape that is in the changer, or cassette and play them both
together. You can play ocean waves in the background, while listening
to your favorite CD, or tape. It can mix any two sources, not just the
CD that Pioner included with it. This CD includes sounds from the
Ocean, forest, birds, rain fall, etc, etc. It is something you have to
hear to believe! You can tell it how many people are sitting in the
car, and it will adjust the speakers automatically for optimum sound
quality. Can adjust the front and rear channels EQ's seperately. Has 6
different sound fields in it's DSP section, Stadium, Hall, Club, Jazz,
Live, etc. Has dolby B, & C noise Red. Can connect a seperate Sub
Woofer. Has remote control for easy use while driving, no messing with
the unit to figure things out since it can be complicated. Has learn
function on remote.
Radio/Tuner section. AM/FM with 36 presets, has ID logic, that
is, it will input the radio signal, and tell you the call sign of the
radio station and display it, it allows you to select stations by
category such as ROCK, EASY LISTENING etc because every radio station
broadcasts it's station type before the music on the radio wave, and
this unit picks that info out for you. Handy for travelling where you
don't know any stations. Has RDS, radio data system, if an emergency
message comes over the airwaves, just like a storm warning on TV, it
will interrupt the music to pass the message, not all units have this,
you must have the RDS in the unit for this to happen. Has BSM, best
stations memory, it will automatically select the best stations it can
reveieve and place them into the presets for you so you can select
through them.
Cassette section:
Front folds down to reveal cassette deck, so more room on
front for graphical display, has music search functions, repeat,
frequency adjustment so that it will make up for a poor quality
cassette to make it sound better. Graphic while cassette is playing
etc. Can use Soundscape with cassette and Single CD.
Single CD/CD changer section:
Has all the standard functions that a CD player should have,
title memory ( 8 characters max) for up to 100 CD's. can connect up to
4 seperate 12 disk changers to this unit. One thing I like about it
is, when you turn off the car, it will start the CD where you left
off, not from the beginning! 32 times oversampling, never skips.
These are just some of the features, there are many more, this
is the top of the line unit.
I am also selling the CDX-P610 which is a 6 disc changer made
by Pioneer which I had connected to it, since I am going to a 12, or
50 disc changer. It is a standard Pioneer changer, very nice quality,
never skips while driving. Plugs right into the back of the FH-P85,
and there is an adapter you can get to connect more than one CD
changer, if you already have one, and want add another.
The FH-P85 is less than a year old, has the manual, box, quick
reference card,Pioneer soundscape CD, and remote, is in absolutely
mint condition, no scratches on the face. Same for the CD changer. The
FH-P85 listed for $1400 when I bought it last year, and I would like
to get $750 for it, I paid $1150 for it brand new 10 months ago. It is
still in production, and available from Pioneer, so you can check it
out.
The CD changer I would like to get $200 for it, or you can
have them both for $900, which is considerably less than what you
would pay for the FH-P85 alone, plus tax, not even including a CD
changer.
