• 4dB of dynamic range is too much. If you have too much dynamic range and your music is played over the sound system at Target, all people will hear are the transients.
• It is perfectly normal to mix all your music for Spotify, because Spotify will always exist and be the primary way people listen to music.
• -8 LUFS is the minimum recommended level for a finished track. Preferably hotter. This has nothing to do with the Loudness Wars; it’s just how music sounds.
• Headphones are a great way to mix because they take the room out of the equation.
• Bass traps are the first and most important acoustical treatment you should plan for a room.
• Foam doesn’t do a thing. You might as well put egg crates or paint on a wall.
• Any room that is not rectangular is a problem and necessitates advice from others on Reddit as to where to put the speakers.

because they remove your current room from the equation. I also use them
while recording on location or any other room I do not control.

According to one post I recently saw on Reddit, the best way to buy an
instrument is to go to a Mom & Pop shop with the intent of testing the
instrument and buying online. Then when you see that the owners genuinely
love music and are so helpful, you pay a little more and buy from them anyway.
At least that was the result of this single post.
