I am not sure of the website but they are located in Hope Arkansas if you are
trying to look up the number.I did have it but cant find it now. They have a
pretty good group of people in the Tech dept. and will be happy to answer
questions etc.
Still dont know why anyone would use the pro stuff though. I havent ever had
many positive experiences with that stuff. But other opinions vary.

You have to have active scripting enabled to view the website. (Yuk)
You can bypass the hoaky 'flash' intro page and go to "product search".
I had four LaScala's in a disco setup back in '77 when I lived just an hour
from the old house (plant) in Hope, Arkansas. Back then, their entire line
came with a lifetime warranty on the speakers. I thought the "CornerHorns"
were simply fantastic for home stereo. Massive sound and power handling
ability. The Paul Klipsch anechoic chamber was the first such facility for
testing speakers I ever visited. Quite a trippy experience having the inside
of your head sucked out your ears.
Ten years later, in '87, I worked with a band that used all Klipsch PA
and monitors. Again, massive sound with good quality reproduction.
Today, I have no idea what's in the product line, but a long standing
reputation for quality and durability preceeds whatever they may have
to offer.
Here's to hoping that things haven't changed much....

Where at in that area, I lived in Hope, Prescott, Nashville ARK and Texarkana
some as a kid! But I wasnt there in 77.
Klispch has always had a pretty good rep. but I think they have maybe dropped
the Lifetime warranty. Not sure.

I always meant to go check that thing out. I hear it was cool.

I havent been too impressed with some of the later models. But thinking back on
it, the reason I wasnt impressed might have been because the rig/s were ragged
by the time I got to them. Their staff was always real helpful when I had to
deal with them.

While I was in college at UofA (after the military and a 3 year stint in L.A.) I worked
as a DJ on weekend nights at the only 'real' discotheque in Fayetteville. It was a
converted art deco style theatre right off campus. I was born in Batesville and my
parents are now living in Forrest City.

I heard that back in '87, but I also heard that it was still considerably longer than
most speaker warranties.

As is usually the case with any 'esoteric' builder/designer that breaks out into
a larger market. QC standards and often the speed of service have to be
compromised in order to turn out the numbers.

They used to have one of each of their product line (which was definitely
smaller and more specialized back then) on display in the foyer of the house
constructed with plexiglass - so that the cabinet shapes, designs and inner
workings could be easily discussed with walk-in buyers.
23 years ago, it wasn't that hard to get Paul Klipsch to answer the phone.
I think he is the type that would still try to continue to honor the quality of
service that probably got him where he is today.

OK. ;-)
Gotta' take this one off group. Look for an e-mail.
Yeah those things were amazing, I remember going into a store in
Orlando, FL around 1981 and the salesman was demoing some PA stuff for
us. He had some huge quadamped system up and was really shaking the
building.
Since our band was young, dumb, and full of ***, we thought that was
way cool - "hey man that's loud".
Then the guy says, hey you've got to hear these things, and he shows
us a pair of La Scalas (I think he pegged us as not having the jack
for the large system).
So we're figuring the guy is just messing with us, but I could not
believe how good those things sounded. They were not as loud or boomy
as the quad amped system, but they sounded a helluva lot better.
About a month after that, I went to an outdoor show in Gainesville,
FL, the act was kind of folky and acoustic based, but they had a pair
of La Scalas.
Again, being outside and all I was figuring they wouldn't be all that
impressive.
Again I was very impressed, the things sounded great.
I wished I'd had the money back then (the drummer had a rich daddy and
bought the PA gear) to buy a pair of La Scalas, I'd probably still own
them...
