That's not a bad thing. It only means you could build one yourself for
hella less than $200.
Yeah, it drives David Josephson crazy that Earthworks mics cost what they do.
It's a cheap capsule in those too, I believe.
Yeah, but at least Earthworks does some trickery to get the best performance
out of the capsules they use, which is more than a lot of other popular
manufacturers can say.

Speaking of cheap capsules and trickery Scott, you wouldn't by any chance
have a a Behringer ECM8000 omni mic mod up your sleeve, would you? There's a
round of drinks in it...

Not yet. I keep meaning to buy one of those things and I just haven't got
around to it yet.
I'd be pretty interested in that too, I quite like those mics but the noise
is troubling with quiet sources..

I didn't mean to seem critical of your mics by pointing out the panasonic
capsule thing. Ive never heard your mics. However, you could have done better
than the tape op review because it seemed the whole review was coming from
someone who was discovering omni's don't have proximity effect like cardioids
