Has anyone ever heard of this thing? I'm pretty sure its primary function is to separate buyers from their money, but opinions are welcome:

http://www.lessloss.com/blackbody-p-200.html

"The Blackbody is unlike any other filter or conditioner. All power filters and conditioners address noise found on wires, but there’s another type of noise altogether. Until now, this inconspicuous type of noise has been largely unacknowledged. It is caused by constant electromagnetic interaction between gear and immediately surrounding objects: stands, racks, nearby signal wiring, enclosures, and other objects containing circuitry or not. This type of radiated noise is not confined to wires. The Blackbody works by absorbing these reflections, effectively solving the problem. Being the only conditioner of its kind, it offers a level of performance previously unattainable."

Being an imaginary device must be lots of fun, and profitable, too.

I wonder what happens when it fills up with absorbed noise? <g>

As Arthur C. Clarke would tell you, it explodes. Just like a Fenton Silencer. (A device you can now buy, sold by Bose.)

By the way, I had the chance to try out a Magic Brick, and when it was placed on top of my power amp the system really did sound better. Of course, a regular old-fashioned brick, dug up from the vacant lot next door, did the same thing. The bricks were damping down sympathetic vibrations in the amp's cover. Cost of regular brick: $0.00.

Peace,
Paul

This reminds me of the chap who solved the problem of light bulbs burning
out.

He came up with the "dark bulb". Instead of emitting light, it absorbed
darkness. Because darkness is *nothing* it never fails. I have them
throughout my cave, powered by solar panels up the mountain.

Sadly, the EPA has outlawed their manufacture ... something about an
equivalency of carbon and blackness. How ignorant! But then, what might
we expect from those who fail to grasp photosynthesis.

I know, I know. I've taken this thread light(dark?) years off topic. But
then, why not?

An excellent dollar absorber it seems.

Kind regards

Lionel Richies ex wife used this box to connect with ghost of late M. Jackson, when he gave her a statement, later accepted at Court, where Dr. Killer is on trial. Alegedly, The Ghost said "Dr. is Innocent, I did it to my self". Statement was recieved loud and clear, thanks to this superb device.

I found out years ago that putting a heavy weight, like a 100 lb
anvil, on top of your usual open back guitar amp will definitely
improve the sound a very noticeable amount. It easy to check out. Get
one of your buddies to stand on top of the cabinet and play through it
