I have the same receiver, and can tell you that the cooling fan does not come
on until the receiver is playing at a loud volume. Mine turns on when I
have the volume knob at about a third power.
: Actually if an SA-GX690/SA-GX790 owner could just tell me "Yeah, mine does
: that too--don't worry about it," then I'd quit worrying about it. In
: fact, it'll be a nice bonus in the winter. :-) I just want to make sure
: _now_ that it's operating correctly, rather than worrying about it if/when
: it breaks and the warranty has expired.
: Sorry to be so long-winded, but I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave
: anything out that a person more experienced than I might need to offer
: some input.
: Thanks very much,

: Not speaking for Intergraph Corporation.
I've noticed the 690 gets warm, and I havn't really worried about it.
I just made sure there was plenty of room above it for venting purposes.
For comparison purposes, I'd say that my 690 has never been hotter than
the top of my computer monitor after its been on all day.
Hope this helps,
Mike
