Any thoughts on the Epic CF4? I have Klipsch Forte IIs and I wonder how
they compare.

I also own a pair of Klipsch Forte II and thought about upgrading to the
new CF3 or CF4 but decided that it wasn't worth the upgrade. The CF-4 is
probably the best speaker that Klipsch has ever produced and has a
smoother, more refined sound. However, it is less efficient (the 102db
sensitivity rating is exaggerated) and somewhat less dynamic. Klipsch
has definitely made some improvements but not enough to warrant an
upgrade. It is not worth its $2500 retail price.

If you have the money to spend on a pair of $2500 speakers, you should
look into to speakers that are more accurate, such as the Vandersteen 3A,
etc. Although the Forte II can hold up its own in terms of dynamics with
virtually any speaker in the market, it pales in the accuracy dept. with
speakers such as the Vandersteen 3A, Hales, etc. etc. These speakers are
more accurate but are also less dynamic. You have to spend over $5000
(Dunlavy SC-IV) to get both accuracy and incredible dynamics.

I personally have passed over the Vandersteens due to their lack of
dynamics and will wait to get out of college to get the Dunlavys.
