Hi,

I am complete novice about audio equipment. In addition, I am on a really
tight budget. I would like some kind person to advice me regarding the
difference between BOSE 201 Series III and BOSE 301 Series III. The price
differential is almost $135 (The latter sell for around $300).

Also, I read the BOSE FAQ on this newsgroup, and it says there are frequent
sales on BOSE speakers. Where? and When? Do mail order companies pass on these
savings too?

Answers to these questions and other words of wisdom (on related issues)
will be most appreciated. Please e-mail me at sa...@vt.edu. Much thanks
in advance.

Best regards.
Sam

I strongly urge you to listen to Paradigm titans ($199) and mini mk3
($329) .Both are great speakers for the money. If you can afford it, the
mini mk3 is worth the price difference(In my opinion).

Yes, I have a suggestion. Forget Bose and buy some Boston Acoustics.
A lot more speaker for the money. Kevin Deal

I bought NHT 1.1's after someone in this newsgroup said forget about bose.
They were right! The bose were recommended by some friends who meant
well, but when I went to the local dealer I didn't think they soundsd
great. I went to a dealer here in Miami and there was no comparison - the
NHT's played music & really boogied by comparison.

Normally I would suggest Thiel, Linnaeum, or Spica, but because it
looks like you're going for small spkrs <$1000, my first suggestion is
this:

Forget about Bose.

Then, if you can find them, check out a pair of Paradynes or Boston Acoustics.

Happy hunting!

Edward
