JBL S2600 speakers ?

I (by accident) happened to listen to a pair of JBL S2600 horn speakers
today.

I told the guy in the shop I thought they sounded
awful & very fatigueing even at low levels. The guy in the shop
more or less told me how stupid I was etc etc not hearing how
beautifully the speakers were... At a price tag of nearly $6000/pair
(in norway) I'm really happy I have a set of B&W which in my opinion
sound muuuuch better.

Are horn speakers in general sounding that fatigueing or are JBL's
especially bad ??? (or do I have a problem ?)

I own the very same type speaker, and I love them! They have been the one constant element in my stereo since 2000 - and have seen a lot of electronics come and go over the years. Never fatiguing at all, always engaging. Where the ones you listened to i original shape...? And used with what equipment...?
