I was having problems finding any info, too. Take a look at the
new Stereohile Guide to Home Theater, which has a review of the SR-96.
I asked Marantz what the difference between the SR-96 and the SR-870
was, and got this reply:
The SR-96 has THX post processing, the SR-870 does not.
The SR-96 has a High pass/Low pass subwoofer crossover at 80 Hz, the SR-870
only has a low pass at 60Hz.
The SR-96 has 90 watts to the rear vs the SR-870 75 watts to the rear.
The SR-96 has Pre-out/Main-in Jacks while the SR-870 only has pre-out jacks.
The SR-96 has a very nice tape/VCR copy function
The Sr-96 has more S-video ins and outs
As for the exact amp specs, etc, I don't know how to find those. You could
call Marantz and the would send you info. But the spec would proabably
be similar to the SR-96 with the above differences...
