I recently purchased Response 1sc. Before that, I has Rogers LS3 5/a
for quite some time, so I have significant experience with
mini-monitors.
When using these speakers in a room your size, they can all to easily
sound thin, especially if you're not seated in the near-field sweet
spot. I recommend the Response over the Tablettes, as that extra bit
of bass can really help.

I found the ProAc tablette 50 sig very revealing. I could hear the
hiss of the recording dubbed to CD and I could differentiate the
different tracks for the recordings. As the instrument came in the
ProAc tablette 50 reveal the hissing recording for the particular
track.
I too was in the same predicament. Weather I should go for the ProAC
tablette 50 sigs or ProAc response 1sc. After speaking with my saleman
at my local hi-fi shop I had decided to go for the ProAc tab 50
sigs. He told me they performed better than the response 1sc compared
through the medium of two valve mono block amps.
To listen to the ProAc tab 50 sigs was unusual since I was not use to
listening to should a revealing speaker. The speaker revealed the
pitfalls of the recording (Kodo), cd player and amp (which were the
Roksan make).

For an extra $500 you can invest in a decent sub-woofer for example an
REL strata. It's all up to you what you do. It's your money. My money
has gone on the 50 sigs and I'll pick them up next week.
I have only had a quick listen to the response 1sc through a $1600
valve amp (can't quite remember the name of the amp). In comparison
the response 1sc had that extra punch giving a slightly bigger sound.

> I'm interested in opionions and any experiences with ProAc Speakers.
Being a Proac dealer, we have a decent amount of experience with these
two models. Basically, we think they are two quite different
speakers, once you get to know them.
The Tab 50 Sigs are rather efficient, very dynamic, and somewhat crisp
in the transients. The Tab Sigs like a smooth sounding amplifier, or
they can sound a little hard and "tense". The Tab Sigs are quite
happy with 10-15 watts, and will actually get quite loud.
The Response 1sc are little more laid back, have richer harmonics, and
yes, more bass. The Response 1sc do like more power (40-50w or so),
but they match more amps in sound. The 1sc have more of the qualities
Proac is known for: imaging, staging, open-ness, sweet highs, and a
certain "realism" to their sound.
Overall, the price difference of $400 is kind of misleading. The Tab
Sigs come standard with the exotic finishes, which are a $400 option
on the 1sc. While they share the same tweeter, the woofer in the 1sc
is considerably better, The woofer uses copper pole plates, and much
lighter diaphram material than Tab Sig. The cabinet is not only
bigger, but also uses the "non-uniform density" materials.
Overall, we think the 1sc is definite UPGRADE over the Tab Sig, but
the Tab Sig is better for single-ended or "lush" sounding tube amps in
general.
