I have been a keen HiFi enthusiast over the years listening to many
different types and makes of speaker, but these just walk all over
everything, the sound can only really be described as 'right', it has
all the adjectives and more, (involving, detailed, real, solid,
delicate, precise) what ever music you put on the speaker don't get in
the way they just play the music. When I got round to looking at the
specs for the speakers ( I know specs do not mean all that, but when
they are as good as this ), virtually flat impedance right across the
frequency range, total phase linearity ( making sounds come from all
around your room to as big an effect as dolby surround can produce ),
built from sonically dead material with an anti standing wave design,
you could see the philosophy behind them, and go some way to explain
the amazing sound.
I don't know if this is the right place to post such a message, but I
felt it just had to be said, so those people thinking of buying
speakers (~3,200 UKP thats in.c UK VAT @17.5%) would have an
opportunity to takin this speaker, as I have not seen it advertised
much and to my knowledge only in UK publications. The speakers I
listened to where a friends, they are already down on my shopping
list, when I get the money.
The speakers were called Sonolith 2.2xi.
