WVBR'S BOUND FOR GLORY, 40th YEAR, SPRING 2007

Phil Shapiro, host of WVBR's Bound for Glory since its inception in
1967, announces the Spring schedule, continuing the 40th year of this
Central New York musical tradition.

WVBR's Bound for Glory, North America's longest running live folk
concert broadcast, broadcasts live from Cul de Snack, the Cafe at Anabel
Taylor Hall at Cornell on Sunday nights. Bound for Glory brings central
New York another series of free folk concerts, on WVBR-FM, 93.5 and
105.5. We promise some excellent acoustic music, presented by long-time
host Phil Shapiro.

The show runs Sunday nights from 8 to 11, with live sets at 8:30, 9:30,
and 10:30. All three sets are different. Come to as many sets as you
wish. Admission in the live audience at the Cafe at Anabel Taylor Hall
is free and is open to everyone in the area. Kids are always welcome.
Refreshments are available. For further information, call Phil Shapiro
at 607-844-4535, or e-mail at pd...@cornell.edu.

Find out about upcoming Bound for Glory shows, and about how you can
help, through the Friends of Bound for Glory, by looking up
http://wvbr.com on the Web. Everyone can listen to Bound for Glory on
line. The website tells you how.

APR. 1 SPARKY AND RHONDA RUCKER. By now they're old friends of Bound
for Glory. Sparky and Rhonda Rucker do traditional American songs with
an African-American flavor, and some new songs that can be very
surprising. They're talented, good humored, and lots of fun. Please
welcome them back.

APR. 8 LISSA SCHNECKENBURGER AND HER BAND. Lissa Scheckenburger is
one of the hottest fiddlers on the circuit today, and her band is tight
and solid. We'll have contradance tunes, slinky instrumentals, some
great songs both old and new. This show will just sparkle. Save the date.

APR. 15 DANA AND SUSAN ROBINSON. Dana and Susan Robinson bring an
Old Timey loose, laid back feeling to both American traditional songs
and tunes, and homemade ones as well. They've got a sly good humor, and
fantastic instrumental chops, on guitar, banjo, and fiddle. They're
always welcome back on Bound for Glory.

APR. 22 MUSTARD'S RETREAT. David Tamulevich and Michael Hough are a
delight. They're singer-songwriters with a distinct traditional
flavor. Their show invites you in. It's almost as though they're
sharing music in your living room. Mustard's Retreat are past winners
of the Best of Bound for Glory award, and they're really high on our list.

APR. 29 PAUL RISHELL AND ANNIE RAINES. Acoustic blues. If you list
the top acoustic blues performers in the world today, Paul Rishell and
Annie Raines will be on your list. They appeared on Bound for Glory
last year, and did an amazing show. They're incredible musicians, on
guitar and harmonica, and they're just plain fun.

MAY 6 NORTH SEA GAS. We'll end our 40th spring in fine style with a
wonderful band from Scotland with the improbable name of North Sea Gas.
Traditional songs and tunes, new songs written in the old style, and
lots of humorous twists, turns, and surprises. Don't miss them.

From May 13 through June 17, Bound for Glory will be Albums from the
Studios. Give Phil a call at 607-273-2121. Next Live Bound for Glory
folk concert broadcast? June 24. There are six live Bound for Glory
shows in the summer.
