Recently taped a couple episodes of "Ghost Whisperer," and for a show
that's supposed to appeal more to a female audience (i.e. a "chick
show"), the beautiful Jennifer Love Hewitt is sure doing her best to
draw guys in as well, with her wearing absurdly low-cut dresses nearly
all the time, exposing as much cleavage as possible. She sure knows
how to show off her "assets," so to speak, but I'm wondering if it's
starting to turn off the women who watch the show. Seems like JLH
wears outfits that expose her breasts every episode, which is fine
with me, but a bit strange for that type of show. What do you
people think? Is JLH's chest a great part of the show, or too much
of a distraction? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

-Frank

P.S. Since she's the star and co-producer of GW, I'm sure JLH has a
say on what to wear, so I'm pretty sure she chooses to show off her
"assets" on every episode.

I, too, tape the episodes & have thought the same lately... no matter
what the weather her cleavage is showing! ,g>
Would like to see her something else occasionally.

I suspect people who watch for that reason notice, and the rest don't.

The only reason I know there might be reason to talk about her
breasts is because people keep bringing it up here in this newsgroup.
For all I know, it's not even "people" but the same guy doing it
time and again.

I stopped watching when Aisha Taylor was dropped from the show.

Which I suggest is a more realistic view of things, that I never
noticed Jennifer Love Hewitt's breasts, and they sure weren't
reason to watch the show. When I lost interest, no breasts
in the world would keep me watching.

I haven't noticed them being displayed that much lately. There was a
time there where it seemed clothes were being chosen just for their
ability to highlight JLH's breasts, but that seemed to have stopped
later in this season. They must not be going out of their way to
display them lately since it hasn't really seemed that jarring to me.

I suspect there may be version of the "Britney Spears" effect going
on. Britney, whose public persona is almost entirely devoted to
wearing very skimpy clothes on her curvy body and making sexually
suggestive dance moves while singing sexually provacative lyrics
aimed at men, was *very popular* among *girls*. Various theories have
been put forward for this effect, but I still consider it something
of a mystery.

JLH has a large fan base of girls, now young women, who have adored
her since she was a teen and find her totally non-threatening. She
could probably walk around nekkid w/out pissing many of them off if
broadcast TV allowed it. She's the sort of girl other girls see wear
an outfit and think "I've got to have THAT!", rather than "Look at
that slut!". That is largely because she has an "everybody's sister"
quality about her that doesn't put people off. Everybody loves "Love",
as her friends and many of her fans refer to her...

I think this is way exaggerated.

I watch a number of "guilty pleasure" shows (e.g. "The Girls Next Door")
just for the jiggle factor, but this isn't the reason I watch GW. The
hype frequently made over her breasts ("Mad TV" did a great parody) has
caused me to watch for them, and it really isn't as bad as they say. At
least half the time she wears jackets that go up to her neck.

And when she wears low-cut tops, it's no worse than most other shows.
Does she really show any more cleavage than the women on CSI, or Jill
Hennessy on Crossing Jordan, etc.? She's a pretty, young, free-spirited
woman who likes to wear frilly outfits, so it's in character. These
others are in serious businesses, where such clothing would generally be
out of place. Yet JLH is the only one that causes all this buzz.

Geeze, put that shit away; has no merritt on this kind of show; she tries to be a goody twoshoes, miss perfect and dresses like a 1 bit slut. I remember one episode where she attended a wake of a friend, dressed like a hooker stilletos and all; glad the show is off the air as well as client list; I can skip the reruns.

You know that Ghost Whisperer was cancelled years ago, right? And that
her following series, The Client List, was also cancelled after a couple
of years?

In other words, this post hasn't been relevant in several years unless
Ghost Whisperer is still running in syndication somewhere.

Reviving ancient threads is a weird troll. This thread was 7 years dead.

I've never understood why people have heartburn over that. Who cares how
old a thread is? If you have something to say about it, and it's
relevant and on topic, then why start another thread about it just
because the existing thread is "too old"?

The troll said nothing, you might have noticed, just did a full-text quote.
If it had said something worthwhile in followup as a legitimate conversation
starter, I wouldn't call it a troll.
