Yay. That's the lesson you've learned from the Letterman scandal,
followed by the defense by Democrats saying, "It's a-okay to attack
children and/or pregnant teens", and concluding with the hated-
republican Palin's resignation because she was sick of her family
being abused.

Whose children are you going to attack next, in hopes of forcing a
resignation from a Republican governor?

Well, when Rush did it to Chelsea Clinton, I don't recall Bill's
resignation, or Hillary leaving political life. I guess he was a
little tougher than Sarah Barracuda. That's the trouble with modern
republicans--they like to envision themselves as the tough town-tamer,
but in reality they're the prissy dude made to dance by the local
louts shooting at their feet.

We're hoping Terry Sanford doesn't resign--too much entertainment
value, but he's probably going to get sued by a romance novelist for
plagiarism.

Put yourself into the spotlight, proclaim that children should not be
given sex education while your own underage daughter gets pregnant then
you open yourself up to ridicule.

No one has attacked her children. What's been attacked is her
hypocritical use of the children as props then trying to hide behind
them when the going gets tough.

Is David Letterman a registered Democrat? I'm sure you'll provide
proof one way the other.

Name one, just one, Democratic official... elected, appointed or hired
(such as a party official) who has attacked any of Palin's children?

Back in the '90s, John McCain told a joke about Chelsea Clinton when
she was a young girl. Have any Democratic Senators told jokes about
any of Palin's kids?

When Palin was sparring with Letterman recently, she referred back to
an instruction candidate Obama made publicly to his campaign staff,
volunteers and Democrats in general... kids and families are off
limits during the campaign. Unfortunately for Palin, she thought he
was also telling the press and comedians such as Letterman that kids
and families are off limits. Otherwise, why would she have referenced
that in one of the public statements she made to/about Letterman?

Bush's daughters were full adults. WOMEN not girls. In contrast
Letterman and his Democratic apologists made jokes about the sex-rape
of a 14-yr-old (this year) and a 17-yr-old (last year) - both of whom
were still children. They should be completely and totally off-limits
until they pass their 18th birthday.

Ridicule is fine, but saying a 14-year-old should be raped by a 33-
year-old man is crossing the line from criticism to child pron.

That's because Lush Rimbaugh never criticized Chelsea while she was an
underage child.

Also it's a mistake to assume all Republicans approve of Lush's
antics. I certainly don't. He disgusts me almost as much as Democrat
Rachel Maddow. They sacrifice integrity for entertainment, and I'd

You're delusional. Letterman was making fun of the unwed teen-mother,
not her younger sister. More importantly, it was Palin's hypocrisy
that has been the subject of comment for months, not her daughter's
out-of-wedlock pregnancy.

The difference isn't that subtle.

Was Letterman's joke funny? Hell, no. But misrepresenting

THEN, you try for a goal:

"SFTV [Science Fiction television] Troy" has always been considered
fairly much a total idiot, even over 20 years ago when I was posting

You keep making the same error, even after I corrected you. Yes the
Bush daughters were breaking the law. Agreed. But they were NOT
girls. They were full-grown adults (18 and up). That's a major
difference.

You've never seen the Rachel Maddow Show, have you? Otherwise, you'd

Governor Tim Pawlenty is a frequent guest.

The only entertaining part of Rachel's show is the cocktail moment and

He never said it was Willow, and he thought she had been at the game
with Bristol, who was 18 at the time. It's just tickling too many
people in that special place to make the error intentional on
Letterman's part, which is why they keep flogging the story that
way.

False. You can find the video on youtube, or simply read what he
said: "Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin's Trip To New York ....
(snip).... One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game,
during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked-up by Alex
Rodriguez."

He didn't specify which daughter but astute people know the only
daughter present was the 14-year-old. Letterman knew it, and his
writing staff knew it. They are not idiots.

He never said she "should be raped" by a 33 year old man.

Given your comments, Bristol was "raped" by her boyfriend since she was
15 at the time. Palin put her "principles" and children into the
forefront. She is in no position to whine. If she wanted to protect
them, she should have left them home in Alaska.

Oh grow up. If Palin didn't want the big bad Letterman to make jokes
about her daughter, she should have left her behind in Alaska instead of
parading them in front of the media.

Not to worry, Kris. Even if someone is deficient like Troy, this does
not mean they must be a clueless pain-in-the-ass like Troy is.

For 98.9998% of the people posting to and reading rec.arts.sf.tv, Troy

FYI Kris, over the years you and I have traded equally insightful

Then let's see some testimony from more Republicans that Limbaugh
doesn't speak for them. All I've seen recently are Republican
officeholders pissing in their pants, afraid that they might have
offended Limbaugh somehow by having said the wrong thing.

"Astute people" didn't give a shit about the Palins or that they were
at the ballgame in the first place. Past that, it's obvious that the
joke was about Bristol.

Nonsense. There was, and is, plenty of criticism of the protection
Chelsea gets from the press. Go take a look. Further, the "pimping"
remark wasn't an attack, and it wasn't "a few years ago." It was last
year.

Funny how you wingnuts never notice facts contrary to your uninformed

Chelsea wasn't underage when Limpballs made his remark?

I believe Limpball's tv show was cancelled in the mid 90's.

Chelsea was born in 1980.

Want to try your remark again?

You could use Google to prove when Limpballs made the remark.

Even so, his tv show went off the air in 1996. Even if he made the
remark on his last show (which didn't happen) Chelsea would have been
16 and underage.

You lose either way.

Linking to a clip that everyone's seen 43 times is dumb and useless.
No, genius, I said show me a quote where someone in the so-called MSM
said you couldn't attack Chelsea Clinton. And by "attack" I don't mean
a slip-up from a tired anchor who'd been on duty since before 5 a.m.
that day; I mean something that directly challenges Chelsea Clinton's
position on an issue, or her general attitudes about everything, or
whatever you like. Warning: If this is going to be about how some fat
asshole on the radio should be allowed to call her a dog whenever he
likes, then don't waste our time here.

"Protected" by whom? And from what? In fact, Shuster spent the day
apologizing. If Hillary Clinton had accepted that and moved on, she'd

Oh wait.

I just noticed I'm talking to Brandy Alexandre. That's like
convincing a lesbian to have sex with a man. You can talk 'til you
run out of breath, but you're never going to change her mind.

Well then I better be careful what I say to you... following your own
reasoning, you're still just a child. Kittchie-kitchie-koo.

But seriously, the daughters were legal adults during the Bush
presidency. I consider them fair game for criticism, just the same as
they'd be charged as adults in any crime they committed.

14-yr-old Willow on the other hand should be off-limits. She went
to a ballgame with her mom, and she found herself the target of an
aging, old comic. There's simply no excuse for that ashit, expect in
ther mind of ammoral leftist liberals.

So because Palin's children leave the house, they have to put up with

The problem with you so-called response to me is that NO ONE had sex
with a 14 year-old girl in the context of this discussion.

So, I'll ask again, who said, "A 14 year-old girl should be raped by a
33 year-old man?"

I eagerly await your indisputable reply.

Here's what you wrote:

Here's my reply:

"Princess, please provide one cite in which anyone from the NEWS
media,
not an entertainer such as Letterman, attacked Palin's children.

Just one. That's all, One.

Tom"

Here's your reply:

"davis shuster! a anchor for MSNBC. Not a 'talk show host', not
a
'entertainer', a NEWSMAN! do try to follow. Assclown."

So, to recap, you said Shushter attacked Palin's kids, but provided no
proof. Then you said Shuster attacked Chelsea and that us stupid
fucking liberals should learn to read.

From where I sit, reading isn't the problem...

BTW, who's davis shuster? I thought his name is David Shuster.
