_Hawaiian locations used in the series (partial list)_

1. "Robin's Nest" The Anderson Estate is the site used
as the Robin Masters Estate in the series. It is located in
the southeastern corner of the island of Oahu at 41-505
Kalanianaole Highway between the community of Waimanalo and
the popular Sea Life Park. During the production years of
the series, and to this day, it was/is owned by Eve Glover
Anderson. Ms. Anderson lives on the estate and is active in
local politics. The Anderson Estate is also called "Pahonu"
which means "sea turtle" in Hawaiian, a reference to the
tidal pool's earlier service as a turtle farm. [See nearly
every episode of the series.]

2. "The Guest House" The interior of the Robin's Nest
guest house was a set constructed within the soundstage at
Universal Television's Diamond Head studio. The studio,
which also served for the filming of _Hawaii 5-0_ and
_Jurassic Park_, is operated by MCA/Universal on land leased
from the University of Hawaii. [See nearly every episode of
the series.]

3. "The King Kamehameha Club" The Elks Club of Honolulu
is the site used as the K. K. C. It is located on Waikiki
beach and is open daily to diners. [See nearly any episode
of the series.]

4. "Island Hoppers" Two different locations were used
as the headquarters of T. C.'s helicopter charter business.
The first couple seasons of the series Island Hoppers was
filmed at a heliport within Honolulu, possibly near the Ala
Wai Yacht Harbor. For the remaining seasons Island Hoppers
was filmed on the Makai Research Pier located on the
Kalanianaole Hwy. between the Anderson Estate and the Sea
Life Park. Makai (Hawaiian for "sea") pier is maintained by
the U. S. Coast Guard. [For examples of location one, see
"Billy Joe Bob", "The Last Page", and others from the first
few seasons. For location two, see "A Sense of Debt", "The
Great Hawaiian Adventure Company", and other episodes.]

5. "T. C.'s House" A privately owned home in a
picturesque locale high in the Waianae mountains was used as
T. C.'s home throughout the series. It is located near
Kolekole Pass on the Kolekole road between Schofield
Barracks and the west coast community of Lualualei. [See
"Did You See the Sunrise?"]

6. Parke Memorial Chapel is the Catholic church used in
several episodes as a meeting place for Thomas Magnum and
his wife Michelle or his daughter Lily. It is located at
the corner of N. Beretania and Queen Emma streets as part of
Honolulu's Queen Emma Square and is attached to the larger
Saint Andrew's Cathedral. It is open daily for visitation
and worship. Mass is held every Wednesday at 7 am. Call
808-524-2822 for schedule updates. [See "Memories Are
Forever", "Resolutions", and others.]

7. Saint Andrew's Cathedral is the church used for Magnum's
mock wedding in "I Do?" It is open weekdays and visitation
is strongly encouraged. Mass is held several times
throughout the week. The Cathedral is notorious for its
enormous sothward-facing stained glass window which contains
depictions of Jesus taking part in many different Hawaiian
activities--not the least of which is an image of Christ
riding a wave on a surfboard!

8. The Falls of Clyde is a nineteenth century Scottish tall
ship used in the episode "Memories Are Forever". It is
moored in Honolulu harbor at pier 7 next to the Maritime
Museum and the Aloha Tower. This majestic "four-mast'r"
first sailed out of Glasgow, Scotland in 1878.

9. Iolani Palace is the building often used in the series
as the city building, courthouse, or police headquarters.
It is teh Hawaii state capitol and is located at King and
Alakea streets between Honolulu harbor and parke Chapel.

10. "Little Saigon" Honolulu's Hotel street and
surrounding district provided the locations for scenes of
the part of town called Little Saigon in the series. Actual
businesses seen in the series such as Wo Fat's restaurant,
Hi Kong Martial Arts Supply, and Bully's Tattoo Shop can be
found in this area. Hotel street runs northwest-southeast
between King and Beretania just northwest of Iolani Palace.
[See "Memories Are Forever", "Death and Taxes", and others.]

11. The U. S. S. Arizona memorial is located within Pearl
Harbor's East Loch. It is open to tours and is accessed by
a ferry which runs from the east shore of the loch. [See
"Almost Home", "Lest We Forget", and others.]

12. Aloha Stadium is a prominent landmark between Honolulu
and Pearl City. It is located along the East Loch of Pearl
Harbor just east of the U. S. S. Arizona memorial. [See
"Home from the Sea".]

13. The Kapiolani War Memorial park and water stadium is
located on the coast between Waikiki and Diamond Head. [See
"Thank Heaven for Little Girls and Big Ones Too", and "Death
and Taxes".]

14. The University of Hawaii's Manoa campus is on the
northeast side of Honolulu, north of Diamond Head, and at
the mouth of the Manoa valley. [See "Italian Ice", "Murder
101", and others.]

15. The Queen Emma Summer Palace is at 2913 Pali Hwy. five
minutes northeast of Honolulu. It is open daily and there
is an admission fee. Visitors may call 808-595-3167 for
details. [See "The Curse of the King Kamehameha Club",
"Holmes is where the Heart is", and others.]

16. The Pali Tunnels are located on the Pali Hwy. near the
crest of the Ko'olau Mts. northeast of Honolulu. The scenic
lookout area, a favorite for Thomas, is on the north side of
the tunnels. [See "Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii", "Blood
and Honor", "Limbo", and others.]

17. The Sea Life Park is located on the Kalanianaole Hwy.
between Waimanalo and Makapu'u Point. [See "Old
Aquaintance".]

18. The Valley of the Temples is located off the Kahekili
Hwy. in the town of Ahuimanu northwest of Kaneohe. It is
most famous for its Byodo-In Temple which is a replica of a
temple in Kyoto, Japan. [See "Tropical Madness", "The Arrow
that is Not Aimed", "Torah, Torah, Torah", "Little Girl Who",
"Tigers Fan", and others.]

19. Chinaman's Hat is a small island off the coast north of
the Valley of the Temples and Kaneohe Bay ("K-Bay"). It
gets its name for its resemblance to a traditional Chinese
hat. Its Hawaiian name is Mokoli'i island. [See "Did You
See the Sunrise?"]

20. "Rabbit Island" is the small island just off the coast
of the Anderson Estate, the Makai pier, and the Sea Life
Park. It gets its name because some people think that, from
the correct angle, it resembles a crouching rabbit with its
ears laid back. Its native name is Manana island and it
marks the south end of Waimanalo Bay. It is a State seabird
sanctuary. [See it in the background of nearly every
episode.]

21. Waimea Falls are located in the far northwest corner of
Oahu up the Kamananui stream from the town of Waimea which
is near Oahu's famous Pipeline and Sunset beaches. [See
"Resolutions".]

22. Kaho'olawe is a small island off the southern coast of
Maui between the "Big Island" of Hawaii and the island of
Lanai. It is seen the the series premiere "Don't Eat the
Snow in Hawaii" and it is used as the fictional "Frenchman's
Island" in the episode "Operation: Silent Night".

_Non-Hawaiian locations used in the series_

1. Tiger Stadium is at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull
streets in the Corktown community of downtown Detroit,
Michigan. It is the oldest baseball stadium in the world
and is in the national register of historic places. Every
American League baseball player since the league's beginning
has played on Tiger Stadium's field, including Magnum's role
model Al Kaline and the only two Tiger players to appear in
a Magnum, P.I. episode, Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell. The
stadium also is just a few blocks away from the headquarters
of Magnum Memorabilia! [See "A Sense of Debt" and others.]

2. "Robin's Keep" Leeds Castle is located in the lush
countryside of central England. It provided the setting for
the sixth season premiere "Deja Vu".

3. Los Angeles locations used in the seventh season
premiere "L. A." include the International Airport and the
Hollywood Walk of Fame (specifically Burt Reynolds' star).

4. "Tidewater, Virginia" In the far southeastern corner
of Virginia are the towns of Portsmouth and Norfolk, known
locally as the "Tidewater" community. This is the area
where Thomas Magnum spent most of his childhood. [See
"Going Home".]

5. The Memorial Mall in Washington, D. C. including the
Vietnam Veterans' Memorial wall and the Lincoln Memorial are
special places for Thomas and provide settings in the
episodes "Going Home" and "Resolutions".

6. The U. S. Naval Academy and the city of Annapolis,
Maryland are featured in the opening of the series' last
episode "Resolutions." Annapolis is 35 miles east of
Washington on the Chesapeake Bay. Buildings and monuments
around "The Yard," as the Academy is known, shown in
"Resolutions" include Bancroft Hall, the Chapel, and the
masthead statue called Tecumseh. The Navy--Marine Corps
Memorial Stadium across town also is featured.
