1) Killed when a building was demolished with him inside
2) Was in a semi that exploded
3) Fell off a mountain
4) Drowned in a pool (of gasoline or something) after being electrocuted
5) A grenade exploded next to him in a "cave" when he tried to save his sister
6) Fell down a mine shaft
I'm counting 6. Did I miss any? Also, what was the order and episode name if you
remeber? Thanks...
BTW, is it just me, or did Murdoc's last two appearances seem hideously
out of character? He never seemed quite as....cruel? obsessively
vindictive?...in the earlier episodes. And I find it hard to believe
that he would ever have gone back to HIT. And as for him joining
ANYONE'S army....feh.
Oh, well. At least I can always rewatch my rather messed-up tape of
my all-time favorite team-up. Mac & Murdoc-gotta love it!

Ah, forgot about that one. hehehe.. Also, another one that I forgot about
was one of the western episodes in which he played a land grabber. Forgot how
he was killed though... After they tried to kill his sister, I couldn't imagine
him going to HIT again either. Yeah, Murdoc was my favorite character next to
Mac. He was the one who inspired me to become a hit man! <g>
As for how he died (and we actually *saw a body*!!!!) in that one, I
think but am not sure that Pete shot him. Maybe it was Jack. Or maybe
I'm misremembering the entire thing.

I can't believe you guys have left out the first appearance of Murdoc.
Which also happens to be the first time that Mac and Pete ever met, back
when Mac was a cab driver. Murdoc was going to kill Pete (and consequently
Mac) with a LAW that he was going to fire out of the side of a van. He had
the camera rigged on the van to take the photo. Mac riggs the accelerator
of the cab to floor-it when Mac and Pete bailed out the doors. Murdoc sees
them dive out, and trys to fire the weapon, but it ends up exploding the
cab just before it crashes into the van, with Murdoc in it.
This is from a flashback scene during an episode where Mac was in a
coma on a hospital bed and Pete was in the process of regretting ever
getting Mac into the DSS (?).

Murdoc did not die in the ersatz Western episode. He shot MacGyver,
whose pocket knife saved him, and walked off before finding out that Mac
survived.

I think he shot Mac first and his "swiss army knife" in his pocket blocked
the bullet and then he awoke with the knife in hand from his dream.
Sorry, hon, but no dice. This one I've seen often enough to remember
VERY clearly. Jack Dalton was the one in the hospital bed, and that
was in the flashback (skated off the Santa Monica Pier looking at a
Blonde). Also, Murdoc was long gone when the cab exploded (nowhere
NEAR the van) and it was two henchmen that Mac & Pete took out.
The only episode I can remember with Mac in a coma is the one where
his grandfather Harry died. I rather liked that one, despite the
damage done to Mac's gorgeous body. It was one of the later season
episodes that wasn't disease-of-the-week, and it was long after
his DXS days.
Kate (the evil twin) Cunningham
Little is known about the international assassin Murdoc. He is, and
has been, the best in his line of work; his methods are, in his own words,
"quick, neat, untraceable." His mastery of makeup and costuming have made
him difficult to identify, and he never leaves loose ends - except, of
course, in the case of MacGyver and his friends.
Murdoc had been known to the DXS for about five years prior to
1980, when he attempted to kill Peter Thornton and MacGyver. This 1980
encounter resulted in Murdoc's apparent death in a collapsing building.
He did not return until seven years later, when he nearly succeeded in
blowing Mac and Pete up. Murdoc "died" in this confrontation, too, after
being careless with dynamite. But somehow, he escaped the explosion, and
he reappeared about a year later, to the surprise of a grieving MacGyver and
Nikki Carpenter; again, he took a "fatal" dive off the mountain known as
the Widowmaker after cutting his own climbing rope. The next time he
tried to kill MacGyver, he staged an elaborate musical, "Cleo Rocks,"
using MacGyver's friend Penny Parker as a pawn. Posing as crippled
director Jacques La Rue, he came very close to realizing his goal - only
to be defeated, once again, by MacGyver's ingenuity. For his "death" this
time, he plunged into a fiery pool after being electrocuted. Murdoc
laid to rest his vendetta, albeit temporarily, against MacGyver when he
realized that MacGyver was the only one who could help him rescue his
sister, Ashton Cooke, from his vengeful ex-employer at HIT, Homicide
International Trust. This spirit of cooperation between the two, however,
did not last; after another of Murdoc's "deaths," he and MacGyver resumed
their deadly game of cat-and-mouse...with Murdoc, yet again, plummeting
into a flooded mine shaft. Murdoc's final regular-series appearance was
as the right-hand man of a deposed Central American dictator who intended
to regain power; Murdoc made his exit by driving a Jeep off of a cliff
after a failed attempt to run MacGyver down.
Despite his nasty homicidal tendencies and twisted sense of honor,
there are facets of Murdoc's personality that are quite likeable. The
assassin is a photography buff; to assure his employers of a successful
hit, he sends them a picture of the moment of the victim's death. He
showed his talent for musical composition when he wrote the score for
"Cleo Rocks," and he even fell in love with Penny Parker as he worked with
her on the production. He secretly supported his sister, Ashton, without
revealing to her his identity. If he hadn't become a hired killer, he
probably would have chosen a career as a photographer or a musician.
If Murdoc survived his last encounter with MacGyver (and it's very
likely that he did), then it is certain that he will try to kill MacGyver
again. MacGyver is, after all, the only blemish on Murdoc's otherwise
spotless record. He's the one man Murdoc has failed to kill.

Both of you are wrong. The flashback in question was shown in the episode
when Murdoc had planned to kill MacGyver, Pete, and Jack in the rear of the
semi. It was supposed to be an anniversary of sorts for the 3 of them (Mac,
Pete, and Jack) first meeting. Pete was chasing Murdoc (who was disguised
as a woman) and Mac was driving a cab for jack. Mac gave Murdoc a ride to
a building and later saved his life after Pete almost apprehended Murdoc.
After Pete told Mac that Murdoc was an assassin, he wanted to help Pete catch
Murdoc, but Murdoc was in the building when it exploded. Pete then recuited
MacGyver. Those were the circumstances of the first ever meeting between
MacGyver and Murdoc.
