Note: I'm not promising to do this every week of Summer. Let's just see
how it goes... (And, if I'm forgetting anything, please feel free to add
in!)

Anyway, picking up on Garondo Marondo's post about "Everwood", here's
what (by my reckoning) is (still) new this week (all times EASTERN):

TUESDAY (05/30):
8:30pm RODNEY (ABC) {burn-off}
9:00pm LAST COMIC STANDING (NBC) {season premiere}
9:00pm PEPPER DENNIS (The WB) [Set your DVR, Rob!!]
9:30pm LESS THAN PERFECT (ABC) {burn-off}

10:00pm RESCUE ME (FX) {season premiere}

WEDNESDAY (05/31):
8:00pm BLUE COLLAR TV (The WB) {burn-off}
8:30pm BLUE COLLAR TV (The WB) {rerun?...}
9:00pm SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX)
10:00pm COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF (ABC) {burn-off}

THURSDAY (06/01):
8:00pm GAMESHOW MARATHON (CBS)
9:00pm SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX)

FRIDAY (06/02):
8:30pm DEGRASSI:TNG (The N) {season finale: Part I}
9:00pm BEYOND THE BREAK (The N) {1-hour series premiere}

SATURDAY (06/03):
8:00pm NED'S DECLASSIFIED... (NICK) {season finale}

I believe it's airing Wednesday too.

This is the Canadian teenage drama? I just saw a news article the
other day that one of the "North of 60" executive producers has
taken over as head writer for this series. The show doesn't sound
like my cup of tea, but he (Peter Lauterman) is a really good
writer, so maybe I should give it a try if it's airing in the
U.S. Assuming that it does okay on ABC Family and we get Season
2 at some point.

Isn't Wednesday's "Freddie" the un-aired pilot, so it's new?

Yeah, but it's a one-time thing, so I didn't include it in my Summer
stuff.

But, yeah, it's a "new" "Freddie", that's true...

Was it retooled? Is there any possibility the original might actually be
good?

You're right - apparently both "Deal or No Deal" and "The Apprentice"
are/were new tonight.

Go figure.

Ian (So, when does this edition of "The Apprentice" finally end?...)

It began in 1999, when people were all scared of the Y2K bug . . .

The ads confused you - there's definitely not a new "Smallville" this
week.

There won't be new Smallvilles until the fall.

There won't be new Smallvilles until Millar & Gough stop rewriting the
same damn Clark-lies-to-Lex-and-Lana-for-no-good-reason plots and the
same damn meteor-freak-of-the-week plots over and over again. There'll
just be unoriginal remakes of these two stories.
