Hang down your head.
I should have said "Daily death: John Stewart -- massive stroke",
since someone dies everyday. Oh, well. A golden opportunity lost.
In rec.music.folk nobody needed to mention "Kingston Trio", though post
it here without such a reference and likely someone will start
talking about The Daily Show.
Of course, for the yonger set here, the Real John Stewart might
be remembered for "Bombs Away Dream Babies" from 1979, though I
only realized much later that it was the same guy who was in
The Kingston Trio.
Michael
He also wrote "Daydream Believer" for the Monkees, perhaps their best
song.
...poor boy was bound to die...

He's the man who never returned.
Kris.
He'll never return
No, he'll never return
And his fate is still unknown . . .
That would be "I'm a Believer" by Neil Diamond, bay-bee! Don' pick no
Davy Jones song over one sung by Mickey Dolenz!
Okay, sure, Smash Mouth covered the song for the Shrek movies, but
please, let's not hold that against the original version, which rocks!

LORELAI: I am so done with plans. I am never, ever making one again.
It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work
and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings
when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never, ever make a plan
ever again, which I'm doing now, having once again been the innocent
victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.
And therefore probably the song that he was best known for, although
I *loved* his story songs, such as "Mother Country" and "Armstrong."
I saw him live at a club in the Bay Area once. Sorry to hear of his
passing.
