There's a "Secret Life..." marathon on ABC Family today! Lucky you!!
For everyone else:
There's a "Burn Notice" marathon on USA today!
YEAH!!! :)
<checking tv listings>
"Heroes" and "Prison Break" aren't on so we know you'll be watching.

It's the weekend. I've got better things to do.
(like watch baseball!)
Sure - you'll be watching baseball... during "The Secret Life..."
commercials!!

Ugh. Just say no to Brenda Hampton.

I don' need no marathon -- I've been watching Burn Notice since the
pilot.
What I'm going to be watching is:
Dollhouse s1 on DVD. Yep, surprise, I know.
I went and got the Dollhouse s1 DVD at Best Buy since it was on
first-week sale -- decided to get it for everything and everyone on it
*but* Eliza Dushku -- so I just wanted to know: Are either the
original pilot "Echo" or "Epitaph One" in-continuity?

Catching up on a tv show... with a Saturday afternoon marathon... with
commercials! This amuses me as much as somebody still watching reruns.

No clue on the former. I think the latter is "supposed to be", but as
the show's been renewed, and I'm not going to lay eyes on"Epitaph One",
I'm gonna personally consider it 'non-canon'...

IIRC at the Comic Con Whedon said that's still the future they're
working towards.
Okay here's a report from the panel (courtesy of Sepinwall, no less,
who came up first in the google search!)
http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2009/08/tca_dollhouse_creator_joss_whe.html
In addition, the second season will build on the story of "Epitaph
One," which is primarily set in a post-apocalyptic future that was
caused by the people responsible for the Dollhouse. The new season
will occasionally revisit the future setting and its characters, and
storylines will build towards developments we saw in brief "Epitaph
One" flash-forward glimpses of the regular characters.
But because "Epitaph One" exists only on the "Dollhouse" season one
DVD set, there's the sticky question of Whedon having to make this
season for two audiences: those who have seen "Epitaph One," and those
who haven't. (I wrote about the complications arising from this after
it screened at Comic-Con.)
"I'm used to that," Whedon joked, alluding to "Serenity," the movie he
made based on his low-rated Fox series "Firefly." "I did a whole movie
that had that problem and only that problem."
Whedon insisted that the new season wil be made for both audiences. It
will begin in that future setting, "But if you haven't seen that, it
will explain itself."

From what I've read of comic-con reports, "Epitaph One" is not only
in-continuity, it's also a game-changer for the series in terms of--no
spoilers so I'm saying this as generally as possible--what ultimately
happens down the road. But, and there's always a but, Joss said that
viewers shouldn't take the episode as gospel, and to treat it as a
collection of memories, which aren't always what really happened.
"What we intend to do is honor what you've seen here today," he said,
"but also to question the veracity of what you've seen here today."
That's about as generic as I can get without spoilers! "Epitaph One"
is the direction they're going, but they're giving themselves wiggle
room. If you don't mind being spoiled, here are the full details from
Alan Sepinwall's blog:

You're supposed to watch it, says the creator! 8-)

Yup.

Hey, I should have read your post before replying to Rob. Alan
Sepinwall's blog is one of my first "go to" places for TV 8-).
Good link, I just want to add that there's general spoilers for those
of you who have yet to see "Epitaph One" yet.
I actually had the opportunity to cybersquat www.TheSuiteLifeOnDeck.com
(.net and .org) but passed on it. "Regrets, I've had a few..."
Hopefully SkulduggeryPleasant.org and/or
HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows.ca pans out for me.
I feel like I'm giving away insider trading info but someone should
buy suitelifefans.com. It's plastered on the bottom of the screen on
all the illegally uploaded episodes* but must've been shut down.
*No I didn't watch them. I got nephews.

Cool. Thanks for the info!
I won't read the article until I've seen the whole season, but from
the sounds of it, it almost seems to me that the sensible thing from
the sound of it would be for Epitaph One to simply be broadcast
whenever it's appropriate -- like, as the last episode of season 2 or
of the series or if it's simply a canon episode, as episode number
whatever.

Bah! Sepinwall is a RATV *traitor*!!1!

<GASP!!!>
His "premiering tonight" was a direct precursor to "what did you
watch?"!!!
Actually, *I* took over his "Premiering Tonight" (in the Fall premiere
season) posts, but thanks for remembering.
<glare>
I remembered. Just didna seem prudent.

Why?
Do you see him around here?!
No?!!
Well, neither have the rest of us, for about 6 or 7 years now!!!

Better to have loved and lost, dude.

Yeah. Umm, well, he *has* a blog, you know <g,d&r!>

How about some pie?
He needs to be *here*, by our side! :/
David seems non-receptive to pie.

I believe that everyone has the right to enjoy pie in the privacy of
their own homes, so long as they aren't infringing on the rights of
others. Just don't try to foist your pie on me.

Would it be any consolation if I said that despite Sepinwall's blog
being one of my first "go-to" sites, I ultimately end up spending more
time at the A.V. Club?
(Which, incidentally, said pretty much everything I wanted to say
about this past week's episode of WEEDS:

Unfortunately, no. :(
