In the last episode (which my nephews and I watch religiously) Teddy
and Spencer re-united and kissed, twice. Both times they had someone
pass by in front of them carrying balloons. I get the joke, but is
that why they did it in the first place? Because Disney can't show
teens kissing? Or does Bridgit Mendler not like the guy playing
Spencer, or vice-versa? What the heck...

The movies did a lot of that in the 30s and 40s. Pulling down a window
shade or some such. I guess that's where Disney is chronologically.

I'm surprised to hear there was even a suggestion of kissing. Romantic
success on a Disney show is usually when the guy gets the girl to go on
a date with him.

Compare Nickelodeon, where a whole iCarly show revolved around a kiss.

I think I read somewhere that Disney shows allow 1 kiss per season on
their shows. Sounds ridiculous to me.

Not if you're in the demographics business. Disney is designing for the
parents, not the kids. Believe it or not, there are parents who would
cancel their subscription at any thought of sexual attraction between
teenagers. They believe that if the kids don't know it exists it won't
happen.
