On the last day of winter I watched:

OUTSIDERS: The episode from last Tuesday. The sheriff's son goes
missing and he illogically going looking in a mine shaft instead of
looking at the bus stop. Big Foster, having killed his mom, sets his
sights on his son's lover, G'Win. Little Foster's evil commonlaw
spouse, G'Win, who slept with Asa already now decides to accept Big
Foster's hand in marriage. Asa is told that guns will destroy the
Farrell's ability to stay on the mountain, so he promptly buys them an
automatic assault rifle and tells them that he can get them 100 more.
It is so hard to guess which member of this hillbilly clan will get
everyone killed first.

DAREDEVIL: Episodes #3 and #4 of the new season. Episode #3 was about
50% dialog between two vigilantes on a rooftop. The other 50% of the
episode was one *really* long fight sequence. This series is making the
really long fight sequence a trademark of its contribution to the
comicbook TV series genre. Meanwhile, both Foggy and Karen work to save
the world with their lawyer/investigative skills, but really do not seem
to be doing anything important. At the end of episode #4, the old
friend finally shows up.

PEE WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY: The 2016 Netflix film that continues Pee Wee
Herman's surreal world of 'simple life' happiness. This film doesn't
miss a beat in recreating the world and the style of humor.
Unfortunately, this film did lack a solid 'love interest' storyline even
with 12 different women put into that potential position. Instead, the
closest thing we get is a 'bromance' with Joe Manganiello (TRUE BLOOD
and MAGIC MIKE according to this film) and that left this movie a bit
short overall.

HELL AND BACK: A 2015 animated adult film starring Bob Odenkirk as the
Devil, Susan Sarandon as an Angel, Mila Kunis as a half bread, and Nick
Swardson, Rob Riddle, and T.J. Miller as three human friends who
accidentally make their way to Hell. This film has a lot of crude
humor, rape jokes, scenes of what Hell might be like for the souls sent
there, and etc... There is plenty of slacker humor, but ultimately the
storyline is a bit thin. Ok film if you are in the right mood for that
kind of stuff.

I watched episodes 2 and 3. Yeah, that was an epic fight sequence that
tops the much hyped hallway fight sequence from the first season.

I'll be watching this too.

> What did you watch?

I watched:

Bate Motel - "Goodnight, Mother" - Already covered. OK episode.

Grim - "Silence of the Slams" - Already covered. OK episode.

Family Guy - "The Heartbreak Dog" - Boring episode from last week.

Batman (blu-ray) - 1989 Tim Burton movie with Michael Keaton as Batman
battling Jack Nicholson's Joker. I remember thinking at the time this
movie had bad special effects and was edited terribly. It's been many
years since I Watched the original Batflicks and watching it again after
all of these years I was again thinking this movie has bad special
effects and was terribly edited. I also noticed just how bad the acting
was too. Nevertheless, I liked it.

Batman Returns (blu-ray) 1992 sequel has Batman fighting Penguin (Danny
DeVito) and Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer). I've always preferred this
one to the first Batman movie and I think it still holds up as the
better movie but I couldn't help but notice on this viewing it is full
of plot holes. But somehow whenever Catwoman came on screen all the
plot holes didn't matter as much.

One thing I noticed in both movies is the number of times Batman
encountered the main villain *could* have taken them out but didn't all
the while killing henchmen left and right. Now that I think about it,
this was sort of the precursor for Arrow.

The first shot of The Bat and the last shot of The Joke are both
embarrassingly bad animation, coming from Burton? Just weird.

In the theater, as Bruce and Selina are dancing, I said to my viewing
accomplice "they may have actually made a sequel better than the
original" and then the Penguin breaks in and the whole rest of the movie
is stupid shit. Viewing accomplice blamed me for jinxing it.

Yeah, they actually had the temerity to pull that "The Batman hasn't
killed anybody" crap after he blew up the plant with freaking MISSILES!

It is either that or you can rewatch all the old STAR TREK films that
people threw fits about Netflix 'losing' a few months ago.

He beat that last bad guy's head on the concrete floor until he ceased
to be a threat!

Oh, something else ... apparently his radar sense has improved until he
can distinguish everything, no problem, like a room temperature hunk of
gore stuck on a table, or ... elevator buttons? Come on, people.

Most definitely!
I forgot to mention, I was noticing the score is pretty good. In

I was in a pawn shop a couple of weeks ago that had hundreds of Atari
2600 cartridges. If any place is going to have obsolete garbage, a pawn
shop is the place.

There were two scores - the excellent one by Danny Elfmann and the
terrible one by Price. Two albums too. And then Shirley Walker spent
her career ripping Elfmann off.

Hell, he's in the Batwing, again firing MISSILES at the Joker, who's
just standing there in Times Square! What does he *expect* to happen?

I did not get this post from Obveuus as he was
inexplicably put in the bozo bin, & not by me.

On Sat Mar 19 I watched:
CRICKET: T20 AusvNZ
T20, aka Twenty20 is the fastest form of the game.
only 20 overs per side.
We lost :(

THE DOCTOR BLAKE MYSTERIES: For Whom The Bell Tolls
"a man falls from the Ballarat Fire Station Bell Tower".
Of course he was pushed.
The Love Triangle continues.

DEATH IN PARADISE: The Perfect Murder
Not so perfect in that the murderer is caught.

No, the setting is modern but the show has strong 1980's sensibilities.
I think someone questioned why they were watching it on vidtape and
another character they called over to help extricate the tape from the
machine, turned around and walked away when he saw the VCR. They took
it to a VCR repairshop staffed by a crazy guy who obviously hadn't seen
another person or left the shop for decades.

I rewatched it fairly recently and noted it hasn't aged very well at all.

It's Tim Burton ... you guys should just be happy it's not extremely
weird crap and doesn't have useless Johnny Dipstick and Helena
Bonham-Carter in it (because nobody else is silly enough to give them
"acting" work).

Just BLACK SAILS. And a lot of it was spent talking philosophically and
setting up the battle for Nassau that will surely make the season finale
something *not* to be missed. There was also a *major* character
death--one that I didn't think would happen and one that I was hoping
would be averted at the last moment. No such luck. Damn.

What about the naked nudity that was so delightfully prevalent in season
1?

You watched season 1 so they don't need to show you naked nudity anymore.

I was hoping that it would be averted also, much as I
didn't like the character episodes ago.

The whorehouse has not been as prevalent as it was in the early days,
IIRC, but that doesn't mean that you don't occasionally get a glimpse of
something worth glimpsing. And it often seems to be girl-on-girl, which
is not something that I'm going to complain about when the girls in
question are cute. Because I'm a guy, and we're pigs. :)

Yes, it's not as if the character has been morally pure and upright all
along, or anything. Still...
